New Job Classes in Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth

By
Jarrod Garripoli

With the move to a turn-based battle system in Yakuza: Like A Dragon, it also brought a job class system for your characters. That system will be carried over into Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, with some jobs returning from the previous game, as well as new jobs that are exclusive to this one. This page will take a look at all returning jobs that have been confirmed, as well as the new jobs that have been said to be included in the game.

There are plenty of job classes that you can utilize in Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth.

New Jobs in Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth

While there are some new characters that join your party in this game, you will also have access to plenty of new job classes for those characters. It’s important to remember that jobs tend to be divided for both male and female party members, so not everyone will be able to use all of the jobs.

Samurai Job Class

One of the first job classes is the Samurai, which uses both swords and bows to strike their opponents. When using the sword, they can cause the Bleed status effect, which means you’ll gain some extra damage. The bow can be used to attack multiple enemies, so this is a class that has some options in how to deal with foes. This job will be exclusive to male characters.

Aquanaut

A job class centered around the sea and using maritime-themed attacks, the Aquanaut uses a variety of attacks that can help in the tide of battle. For example, one could blind enemies with some squid ink, or you could even paralyze your foes with an electric jellyfish. This job will be exclusive to male characters.

Desperado

Inspired by the Wild West, the Desperado is a job class that will use things like dual pistols, dynamite, and rope to take down their enemies. They seem adept at handling multiple foes at once, as well as being able to learn a variety of status ailment techniques. This job will be exclusive to male characters.

Kunoichi

The Kunoichi is a class that uses its speed and ninjutsu techniques to deal with enemies. It can use Substitution Jutsu to have clones deal big damage, while also swapping turns with allies. This job will be exclusive to female characters.

Housekeeper

When you want to smack enemies with a mop, then you will want to be using the Housekeeper job, which is exclusive to female characters. They specialize in striking multiple targets over a wide area, with tools like mops, vacuum cleaners, and other tools of the trade.

Geodancer

As much as this job can attack, the Geodancer is also great at supporting their allies. They possess extremely high magic and use powerful elemental moves. The Geodancer seems like a superb class for buffing and healing your allies. This job will be exclusive to female characters.

(1 of 3) Female characters have a few new jobs as well, like the Kunoichi.

Sujimancer

An exclusive job class for Ichiban, the Sujimancer allows you to utilize your Sujimon in battles. Yep, the Sujimon isn’t just a bestiary in Infinite Wealth, as it’s a full-blown minigame now. You are able to train the Sujimon, which in turn, can help power up this job.

Dragon of Dojima Job: Kazuma Kiryu

One of the new party members in the game is Kazuma Kiryu, who might have starred in a few games of his own. His exclusive job is called the Dragon of Dojima and it comes with a few perks of its own. He is able to switch between three different styles during combat, which are Brawler, Rush, and Sledgehammer. The Brawler style is brute strength that lets him pummel enemies and use Heat Actions, while the Rush style is more of a faster set of attacks, with multiple in quick succession. The Sledgehammer style lets Kiryu grab enemies and objects alike, flinging them around the battlefield.

(1 of 3) Kiryu will be able to switch between three styles during combat.

Kiryu also has a special action mode called Dragon’s Resurgence, which puts him in a state that basically allows him to break free of the turn-based restriction. Once he activates this, he can freely move, punch, and kick as if you were playing the older Yakuza titles. This special seems to have a bar that depletes as you stay in that mode, though, with you returning to the normal combat once it is gone.

Returning Jobs in Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth

While the generic Jobs that are returning to this game aren’t really known, the character-exclusive jobs of characters coming back have been revealed. This includes Ichiban’s Hero job, as well as the following characters:

  • Homeless Guy (Nanba)
  • Detective (Adachi)
  • Barmaid (Saeko)
  • Hitman (Joongi Han)
  • Mafia (Tianyou Zhao; named Gangster in previous game)

(1 of 5) Some familiar faces will be returning to Infinite Wealth.

There are also some new characters, as well as characters that appeared in Yakuza: Like A Dragon that are now playable. For example, Seonhee is now a party member and utilizes the Assassin job class. The two new party members, outside of Kiryu, are named Chitose Fujinomiya (uses the Heiress job class) and Eric Tomizawa (uses the Cabbie job class).
