Ryder is complaining about your driving, and how since you got back, it’s always been you driving. However, Sweet says that Ryder is such a good shooter, that CJ should be driving. Get in the car with the others, and you will learn it’s time to hunt down some Ballas, by doing a drive-by. Note that you will be doing the driving here, but if you happen to have an appropriate firearm in your possession, you can actively participate, too. This is done by using the L2 or R2 buttons, corresponding to looking left and right, respectively. However, your comrades should be more than capable at killing the enemies, so just concentrate on driving.
Drive to the first location and get into the marker to see some Ballas. You will want to avoid stopping here, as the Ballas can put in some damage to your car, with the meter on-screen representing its health. There will be four sets of Ballas to kill, with the fourth one behind in the little tunnel under the pedestrian bridge in Glen Park. After all of the Ballas are dead, you will gain a four-star wanted level. You will be told to head to the spray shop in order to lose the police. It will be shown on your map with a spray can icon, so drive over to it and go inside.
Once the car is sprayed, your wanted stars will be flashing, which means the police will leave you alone. However, should you commit any crime that would result in you getting more wanted stars, then the full amount you had before would be restored. While this time is free, every time you use the Pay ‘n’ Spray, it will cost you $100. This can be a little bad in the beginning of the game, whenever you have little money, so you should try to avoid unwanted attention on yourself unless the mission you’re doing gives you wanted stars. Drive your crew back to Grove Street to finish the mission.
