How to Get and Use the Delving Bench - Conan Exiles

By
Scott Peers

The Delving Bench in Conan Exiles provides a unique way for you to obtain new weapons and armor. You can do this by placing 50 "Eldarium" iconEldarium into the bench alongside almost any armor piece or weapon. The Delving Bench will then yield a random schematic for a new armor or weapon recipe which you can interact with to learn. You will then find the corresponding recipe available at your regular Armorer’s or Blacksmith Bench. The Delving Bench underwent a significant revamp from the 3.0 update, and even more so from the Age of War update. On this page, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about how to find the Delving Bench, how to use it, and what’s new with it.

The new Delving Bench in Conan Exiles allows you to get more unique items, but at a greater cost.

How to Get the Delving Bench on the Isle of Siptah

The first thing you need to know about the Delving Bench is that it’s only available on the Isle of Siptah, where you need to find a specific scroll to learn the recipe for it. The only way you can obtain the Delving Bench in The Exiled Lands is by using the admin console. It still works there, so it’s entirely doable if you prefer to play in the Exiled Lands but still want to benefit from the recipes that the Delving Bench offers.

Explore the Leyshrine of the Fiends

To get the Delving Bench on the Isle of Siptah, you need to visit the "Leyshrine of the Fiends" iconLeyshrine of the Fiends, located just east of "The Tower" iconThe Tower in the central part of the map. This leyshrine is guarded by a number of accursed humanoids and some skeletons. Both of these enemies are hostile to each other, so you can wait for them to kill each other before moving in to finish them off yourself.

Once you get inside the leyshrine, you’ll find a few accursed humanoids that are easy to deal with. However, when you reach the central part of the leyshrine, where the Leyshrine research notes are that you need to interact with, a group of humanoids will ambush you. You’ll need to be ready to fend these off, or if you’re quick enough you can just interact with the scroll and then run out.

Whatever way you do it, once you’ve read the research notes at the Leyshrine of the Fiends, you’ll know the recipe for the Delving Bench. You can now go back to your base and build it!

How to Use the Delving Bench

To build the Delving Bench you’ll need 30 "Insulated Wood" iconInsulated Wood, 38 "Hardened Brick" iconHardened Brick, and 20 Eldarium. You can find the recipe for the Delving Bench in the “Special” tab of the Crafting Stations menu. With the bench constructed, you can begin using it to obtain unique armor and weapons.

To use the Delving Bench, you’ll need to have a lot of Eldarium (50 per item) and a weapon or piece of armor of a specific type. You can then combine the two items and see what emerges from the Delving Workbench. It used to be that you would get consistent results from the type of weapon or armor that you put into the bench, but now you will only get a random schematic that allows you to craft a specific weapon or armor piece from your regular armorer and blacksmith benches.

Where to Find Eldarium

The one specific item that you do still need to use with the Delving Bench is Eldarium. This can be found from multiple sources, but only on the Isle of Siptah. It’s a relatively rare resource that you’ll mostly find as "Decaying Eldarium" iconDecaying Eldarium initially, but you can reforge it to create pure Eldarium. Which Weapons and Armor Can Be Used in the Delving Bench?

As briefly mentioned above, there used to be a complete set list of weapons and armor that could be put into the Delving Bench to yield specific results. Unfortunately, this was changed during the 3.0 update and further revamped with the new loot system that was introduced with the Age of War update. The good news is, you can still put most basic weapons and armor into the Delving Bench to get results, but instead of providing a specific item, you’ll get a random schematic.

In general, you can expect to get a weapon schematic if you put a weapon into the bench, and an armor schematic if you put a piece of armor in, so you can still work to prioritize which items you want new versions of. Once you see the schematic pop up in the Delving Bench inventory, you can use it to learn the associated recipe. You’ll then find the recipe at the regular workbenches where you usually craft armor or weapons.

(1 of 3) You need to place 50 Eldarium and almost any armor or weapon piece into the “Delve” section of the Delving Bench.

The new random nature of the Delving Bench means that you might find yourself wasting a lot of Eldarium in exchange for a slim chance to get an item that you actually want. Still, there’s something to like about the fact that you never know what you’re going to get, and some of the schematics for armor and weapons that are obtained from the Delving Bench can’t be found elsewhere, so it’s still a worthwhile endeavor if you have enough resources. This is especially true when you consider that you can place a relatively weak item in the Delving Bench with a good chance of getting a schematic for a much better item.
