We’ll have to speak with Floyd back at the Brewery to begin this mission. After the scene, you’ll now be able to use the super bounce ability which can be executed by hitting the jump button just before landing on a bouncy surface for a much higher bounce. Very useful for scaling buildings, innit!

Make your way over to the objective marker and use the super bounce to enter the building here. Approach the objective marker for another scene. Once that is done, you’ll need to head over to the objective marker below to begin the next phase of the mission.

Arriving at the marker will actually trigger the first challenge available in the game, there are 54 in total and this is the only one that is compulsory. They appear as green stop watches on the mini-map and can be accessed from the character menu following this mission.

Make your way to Buck’s place in the distance (left). Then head over and interact with the Challenge icon (right) to continue.

Back to the task at hand! We need to earn a bronze medal or better on the current challenge: ‘Episode 1 – Buck National vs. The Apocalypse’ in order to proceed. To do this, you’ll need to fight off various forms of OD for several minutes. A few things will make obtaining target scores easier:

  • Follow Buck’s instructions - killing enemies as he suggests (Bounce, Grind, pain Train etc.) will give bonus points.
  • Keep your style meter full! This will enable you to use Amps.
  • Keep moving to keep your kill combo going for big points!
  • Never stay on the ground for long unless going for the pain train switch as you will be overwhelmed very quickly.

During the challenge, follow Buck’s instructions and be sure to hit the switch (left) to summon the Pain train (right) intermittently.

Once time has run its course, you will be awarded a Gold, Silver or Bronze medal and the associated monetary reward. Return to Buck and grab the processor before returning to Sam at the Oxford’s base to end the mission.
