Darktide players now have access to a barber shop on the Mourningstar. Those rejects with scruffy hair or fancy styling themselves a little differently can now change their appearance in Darktide, as of the 1.07 patch for the Darktide pre-order beta.

You can now visit the barber shop to change your appearance in Darktide, as of the 1.07 update.

How to change appearance in Darktide¶

If you’re in the market for changing your appearance in Darktide, you will need to head to the Mourning star. When you load in, turn left at the first junction and head down the path. Head up to the Armory Exchange store, and head for the second show window that faces the path you followed, and not the one that leads down the path to the missions table. You can now look at the back wall, and the shutters will have lifted to reveal a brand new barber shop you can visit.

Head inside the barber shop, and speak to a fella called Oska Krall, the Chirurgeon onboard the Mourningstar. He will then allow you to enter the menu where you can change your character’s appearance. Note that the only customisation options you get are about your character’s sex features. This includes changing the face, hair type, color, markings, tattoos and other body and face customization options. Once you’ve amended your look, you can then confirm your new appearance by pressing finalize appearance in the bottom right of the barbershop.

The good news is that those who got the Imperial Edition of Darktide, and have already progressed on Ogryn can use this new feature to apply their special cosmetic body marking to their Ogryn when the cosmetics go live. It means you won’t need to make a new Ogryn to get their Imperial Edition goody.

At the time of writing, you cannot change the sex, character homeworld or voice of your character. It is merely to change the physical appearance of your character and nothing more Perhaps there could be future additions to the Barber Chirurgeon, such as when the devs add new character customization options, or when they expand the feature to include sex changes and voice modifications during the live service game.Keep your eyes peeled on the game’s social hubs to see if they ever do expand the content in the barber shop more, so you can keep coming back to the feature and seeing new styles.
