The Abhor the Mutant Penance is a class challenge for Zealot Preacher players who fancy getting themselves a new cosmetic. The challenge requires players to dash into the enemy mutant and kill it while charging. This challenge is a little tricky but can be done fairly easily.

Abhor the Mutant tips¶

The best trick you can do as a Zealot Preacher is to learn how much damage you deal to mutants. You can then use that information to easily slap an enemy mutant down to a reasonable amount of health. From there, you can ready your heavy attack and the charge simultaneously. You then want to change to the side of the mutant and then slap it as you go past. In theory, you should be able to get the Abhor the Mutant penance completed easily.

The other tip we have to share on getting this is to watch for your allies’ actions. You want to avoid starting swinging at it if a Psyker is charging a Head Pop or a Veteran is spraying it down with a Lasgun. Instead, you want to wait until the Veteran has got a few shots, and the Psyker has done ahead pop, as they rarely one-shot the mutant. Once you spot those, you are free to charge and try to slap it during the charge to complete the penance.

You can also wait for the mutant to charge someone and beat an ally up. When they start ragdolling an ally or beating an ally up, you get a free and easy way to charge a stationary target and hit them with your weapon.

The other thing to be wary of is that you need to kill it during the charge and not from the benefit from the critical strike. Killing it with the critical strike from your next melee attack at the end of the charge does not count.

If you’re struggling with this challenge, this should become much easier later on in the game, such as getting access to the Eviscerator around the level 15 mark.
