There are a few things that are missable in this game, especially if you are planning on going after all of the PS4 trophies. These mostly include some missable enemies and two of the Roles, so there’s nothing too major. In regards to the bestiary entries, it’s in your best interests to always try to fight all of the enemies in a given area whenever you go through it for the first time. This is because at certain points in the story, the enemies in some areas will get replaced by stronger ones. As for the Roles, they will be pointed out in the guide before they can be missed.

Tips and Tricks

  • If you feel the camera is too much, you can always turn the sensitivity down in the options.
  • Micromanaging your Battle Roles is one of the more important aspects of the game. Don’t forget to level them up, as well as experiment with equipping them on characters. Do you feel like you’re getting your butt handed to you in battles? Then toss on a couple of healing-centric Roles on Miki to make her heal more.
  • Roles are usually unlocked by leveling other Roles, but there are a few unlocked by viewing certain PAs, completing some of the in-game Battle Trophies and even some are unlocked by doing specific Quests.
  • Speaking of Roles, don’t forget to actually level them up if you have an excess of SP sitting around. This will unlock better ones that might turn the tide of a difficult battle. For example, the Assassin Role makes it so the character with it equipped is less likely to be targeted, so if Miki is constantly being the brunt of enemy attacks, equip this on her.
  • Getting to view all of the Private Actions can be a chore, but you can enter/exit the area (or an inn) to reset them so you can see more of them. Remember that some PAs require specific characters, so if they aren’t in your party, then you won’t be able to see them. While PAs are important for increasing affection, don’t forget that there are items that can both increase and decrease affection.
  • Regarding PAs, it’s a good idea to go back and try to view them all after the major story events. This makes it so you don’t have a huge back catalog of them to see whenever you are trying to trigger a specific one.
  • Welch’s Quests are very important to do, as they usually unlock some kind of Specialty skill related to Item Creation.
  • Other quests that give book rewards (not skill books) should be prioritized over other quests, as these will unlock Specialty Skills that might increase drops from enemies or even make grinding easier (Ocarina specialty).
  • When going through areas for the first time, make sure you fight all of the given enemies you can encounter there. This is because progressing through the story can change the monsters you find in those same areas, meaning that you might miss those entries in the Bestiary.
  • Once you unlock the Augmentation and Synthesis options for item creation, it is possible to create very strong equipment, so make sure you max out those specialty skills as soon as possible (unless you want to challenge yourself). For example, it’s possible to make a Laser Weapon for Fidel (it has 1000 ATK/INT) a lot earlier than you think (during the events in Trei’kur).
  • The Cooking specialty skill is probably one of the nicer ones to level up early, as you can produce food with it. Some of the food can provide temporary buffs, such as increased ATK or even increased EXP, making some battles much more manageable.
