Dakaav Footpath¶
Enemy | Species | Items |
---|---|---|
Adephaga | Insect | Basil, Green Fruit |
Armored Lizard | Avian | Dragon Scales |
Giant Bat | Avian | Jasmine, Mint |
You will find the exit to this area on the Resulia Plains, in the southern portion of the very large area. There will be a chest straight ahead from the entrance, which contains a Swordsman Manual Vol. 1 skill book; you can use this to teach Fidel a new skill, Air Slash. So, do that and customize his skillset to include it. There are two paths here, both of which will lead to the same spot. The western path doesn’t have any chests, so use the eastern one, where you’ll find a chest just past the first bridge ( Earth Gem ).
Keep going forward (heal up if needed) and you’ll hear some laughter, so follow Miki to look at the area below, where you’ll notice some Eitalon enemies. Unfortunately, whenever you turn around, there will be more behind you, triggering a fight. This fight can be a bit challenging, especially if you have low health or MP. The initial three enemies consist of two Swordsman and an Archer, with the latter causing the most problems, so target him first. As you defeat enemies, more will show up, so depending on who you’re controlling, make sure you are properly healed.
Eventually, the battle will end on its own, which will trigger another cutscene. Fidel and Miki will automatically investigate what happened, with the scene culminating in another fight. These enemies will have blasters, but just attack them until they both start glowing red, which means they will now take zero damage from all sources. So, just guard and at one point, the mysterious little girl will end the battle for you.
Well, that’s certainly something. Before more bad things can happen, it’s time to get out of this area. There are no more enemies on the map, so you’re free to explore it if you want, although you should have gotten everything in the northern sections. In the area north of where you fought the mysterious men, there will be a chest with an Energy Bracelet inside. In the one side path to the south, there will be one more chest with a Darkness Gem . As you approach Sthal village, Miki and Fidel will talk and after they’re finished, you can save.
Village of Sthal¶
Enter Sthal and talk to Ted, then head to your house once you can freely move. After resting up a bit, you can go off to talk with the mayor at his place. You’ll find someone inside, who came to help with the Eitalon problem, so when you’re ready, meet up at the western gate. Miki will rejoin, as does Victor and his two companions. Make sure you re-equip Victor with some Roles before setting off.
Attack on Eitalon¶
Back on the Dakaav Footpath, it’s time to go after Eitalon. Head north until you end up meeting with another of Victor’s companions, who has scouted the location of the Eitalon bandits. Note that it’s a good idea to battle as many enemies as possible to fill in the Reserve Gauge, as you’ll be wanting to use it shortly. Anyway, follow Deks until you come to a dead end, where he’ll reveal a secret entrance to the Eitalon base. You will probably want to move slowly, so you don’t get too far ahead of Deks, unless you already know where you’re going.
You don’t really need to be silent, as Victor says, but you will encounter a lot of enemies inside. There will be the typical Eitalon enemies you’ve faced up until now, plus they have Armored Lizards in their ranks. After the first batch, go north to the little dead end to find a chest ( Holy Water x2 ). Eventually, you’ll come to a room with a rock pillar in the middle of it, where the party will stop and notice that Eitalon seems to be missing.
So, you’ll need to investigate the room to see if there’s a hidden escape route somewhere. To quickly find it, follow Miki and move close enough to the large boulder in the wall, similar to the secret entrance from earlier. Miki will open it up and reveal some Eitalon, who will run away. Before you go chasing after them, check out the room in the north to find a locked chest, as well as a normal one ( Swordsman’s Manual V ). This can teach Death Palm to Fidel, or Flying Guillotine to Victor. Back to the task on hand, follow this path, defeating the three sets of enemies along the way, until you come to the end, where you’ll fight a boss.
BOSS - Eitalon Leader¶
The Eitalon Leader is equipped with a laser pistol and will pretty much just sit back near the edge of the cliff, firing on whoever he wants. The bigger problem with the battle comes from the adds with him, as things can get quite hectic whenever they are still alive. You will want to try and concentrate on the magic users before anyone else, as their one spell can deal a lot of damage and also knock you on your butt.
After dealing with the Spellslingers, go after the Archers, since they are able to hit you with ranged attacks. From there, clean up the rest of the enemies before concentrating on the Leader. You may have noticed that up until now, you usually stunlock enemies whenever you’re attacking them. The problem with the Leader is that he will be stunned unless you counter him, which might be difficult to do. So, the best thing to do once he’s the only enemy left is to just keep wailing on him. If you happen to have some Reserve Gauge saved up, then hit R2 + X to unleash Fidel’s or Victor’s Rush to deal some major damage.
Upon finishing the battle, listen to the conversation and then return to Sthal. You’ll break the good news to the village, and also receive good news yourself. It seems the little girl has regained consciousness, so go back to your house and watch the scene there. Go and talk to Victor by the western gate, then return home once more. Both Miki and Relia will join up with you, as well as Victor once you meet up with him by the gate again.
