Information about how to unlock and complete the Off-Roading Challenge in Saints Row.

How to Unlock and Complete the Off-Roading Challenge

Off-Roading is a Challenge in Saints Row that will unlock after you complete the mission Networking. The Off-Roading Challenge tasks you with completing two objectives:

  • Equip a vehicle with an off-road kit.
  • Drift for 60 seconds in Badlands South.

Visit a garage and pay $7,500 to install an Off-Road Kit.

How to Equip Vehicles with an Off-Road Kit in Saints Row

To customize vehicles in Saints Row you’ll need to complete the Mission A Piece of the Action, which will unlock the JimRob’s Venture. Any vehicles you drive into the open garage at JimRob’s will be stored for future use.

Once you’ve stored vehicles you actually care to invest some money into, visit JimRob’s garage (interact with the door inside the open garage where you’ve been depositing vehicles) and select a vehicle and choose the “Customize” option, then pick the “Equipment” option. Here you’ll find the option to install Nitrous (Boost), an Off-Road Kit, and a Tow Cable on vehicles. Drop $7,500 to install an Off-Road Kit on a vehicle to complete this objective.

How to Drift in Saints Row

Drifting is a vehicle trick you can perform in Saints Row by holding down the DualSense-ButtonCross / Xbox-ButtonA while driving and holding the Left Analog stick to the left DualSense-Stick-L-Left or right DualSense-Stick-L-Right. A heavier vehicle with an Off-Roading Kit installed will perform better in the desert of the Badlands South region, where this trick must be performed. The uneven terrain will likely interrupt your drifting, so be prepared to perform this trick repeatedly unless you get lucky and find a spot where you can essentially drift in a circle endlessly. Fortunately you just need to drift for sixty seconds cumulatively, you don’t have to pull off a single drift for sixty seconds, so persistance will suffice if skill and luck are lacking.
