Coming from Route 15, there will be a Pokémon Center nearby to the north-east that you should visit before going elsewhere. Inside, there’s a Team Skull Grunt in front the café who’s causing a commotion. Go and make him cool down with a refreshing Pokémon battle.
Team Skull Grunt¶
Pokémon | Level | Type |
---|---|---|
Trubbish | 35 | Poison |
This literal pile of rubbish has a strong STAB move with Sludge Bomb and can use Clear Smog to inflict damage and cancel your Pokémon’s stat changes. Don’t mess around and clean it up with your Ground or Psychic-types.
After teaching him a lesson, the café owner will give you a glass of Moomoo Milk on the house.
Back outside, follow the dirt path east to begin with.
As the path gradually bends, you’ll come across an Aether Foundation trailer, with a trio of dancing Spinda next to it. Before the Spinda make you go dizzy, enter the trailer via the metal steps. Actually, there’s nothing to do inside here, but you may want to familiarize yourself with this location. To the right is the Reassembly Unit.
However, to use it, you must first catch the Legendary Pokémon Zygarde found after completing the game. If you trade a Zygarde from a different game, it won’t work. Step outside the trailer, then head towards the back of the trailer, past the silly Spinda. Peel off Totem Sticker #071 stuck to the side of the trailer.
Next, press the A button to crawl through the gap underneath the trailer, near where the sticker was. You’ll end up in a young child’s hiding place, where you’ll need to battle to continue past.
Preschooler Kindra¶
Pokémon | Level | Type |
---|---|---|
Mimikyu | 34 | Ghost/Fairy |
It’s the same Pokémon that you fought at the end of Acerola’s trial. This one is much easier, thankfully. As before, it’s weak to Ghost and Steel only. However it only knows Dark and Normal-type attacks and thus does not benefit from STAB.
Continue south along this narrow space, then grab TM81 X-Scissor that you should have seen earlier. After crawling back through to the other side, go south-east towards a bunch of tall grass. Shuffling around the edges of the tall grass is a scientist looking for a test subject. That’s you, by the way.
Scientist Reid¶
Charjabug is the middle evolution of Grubbin. Having gained the Electric-type, it’s weak to Fire and Rock only. Note that Reid can use an X Sp. Def to boost Charjabug’s Special Defense. Meanwhile Muk is only weak to Ground. This one doesn’t know Poison-type moves, but does know Minimize.
Towards the far east, past the tall grass, is a useful PP Up next to the side of the cliff. From here, return west to the Pokémon Center. Afterwards, continue west along the dirt path, then north towards the exit. If you want, you can rummage through the berry stack and the tall grass to the west of the path.
