Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright

Paralogue 9 Saizo vs Saizo

By
Nathan Garvin
Location Objective
Thieves’ Den Defeat the boss before Asugi escapes.

Map of Paralogue 9.

Saizo’s son, Asugi, can be recruited here. Your objective here is slightly more unique than previous times. Asugi will be constantly running through the crowd to escape you and the bandits. You thus must defeat the boss before this happens, so you shouldn’t focus on gaining experience, but rushing through this Paralogue. Asugi’s escape path might seem long, but the foes you face don’t have issues attacking him. Thankfully, his progress is stopped by several doors. That will buy you time.

So, how are you supposed to make sure you can get through the rooms when you are walled in, and would otherwise have to waste time opening doors too?

One Dragon Vein is displayed on the left, two are on the right.

Who needs doors when you can just smash the walls?! That’s right, use these Dragon Veins to blast open the walls, giving you a straightforward, fast path to the boss! The first Vein is right in the same room as you spawn, and the other two are pretty much directly northward. Don’t waste turns using Locktouch to open doors, just go ahead and clear a path through the walls.

Enemies can use Locktouch to open doors in response to you moving forward, so be aware of that. Otherwise, it’s a rush to the finish. The boss is rather frail, so he should go down easily. Once you have cleared the Paralogue, Asugi will join your army permanently.
