Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright is the “easier” of the two paths in the Fire Emblem Fates game collection. Like any other good old Fire Emblem installation, it is a strategy RPG that heavily employs the use of tactics within a turn-based system. Whether your favorite thing is micromanaging your entire army, building up friendships and possibly marriages between characters, or minmaxing the stats of your favorite characters, or even just enjoying a deep and epic story, you’ve come to the right place.

In contrast to Conquest , the other game in Fire Emblem Fates , Birthright allows you to grind for experience and gold, thus giving you essentially unlimited resources with which to grow your army. Battle maps are simpler, requiring less intensive usage of complex tactics, making this game the friendlier for beginners. If you have never dipped your toes into a Fire Emblem game before, you should start with Birthright . It will ease you into the franchise’s gameplay and mechanics and is relatively forgiving of mistakes.
