The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

Ravio's Shop

By
Vincent Lau

Return to Link’s House and you will find that Ravio’s shop has opened. Here, you can rent a variety of useful adventuring items from Ravio for a fee. After renting an item, you can use it forever… until you get a Game Over, at which point Ravio’s pal, Sheerow, will take the rented items off your unconscious body.

Here are the items you can rent:

**Item Name** **Item Description** **Rent Fee**
Bombs Blows up monsters and fragile objects 50 rupees
Bow Shoot monsters and switches from afar 50 rupees
Sand Rod Creates a line of pillars in the sand Rented by Osfala
Tornado Rod Hover in the air and stun monsters 20 rupees (discount)
Hammer Pound monsters and objects 20 rupees (discount)
Hookshot Grapple wooden objects and stuns foes 50 rupees
Boomerang Collect rupees and stun foes from afar 50 rupees
Ice Rod Freeze monsters and lava with ice 100 rupees
Fire Rod Burn monsters and melt ice with fire 100 rupees

For starters, rent the Hammer and Tornado Rod , which are needed to enter and complete the next two dungeons. If you have tons of rupees and are confident of your abilities, you can rent all the items! Besides the above, we recommend renting the Bombs and possibly the Hookshot . The Boomerang isn’t really useful for anything, while the Fire Rod and Ice Rod are nice, but don’t really open a lot of new roads.

Before you start your trek up to the (very dangerous) Death Mountain; now’s as good a time as any to secure your weapons by renting them for cold, hard Rupees from Ravio.

With the Hammer in hand, you can enter the Tower of Hera by hammering the stumps blocking the entrance. Similarly, if you have the Tornado Rod, you can blow away the floor tiles in front of the House of Gales, revealing a secret switch, which opens the door to the dungeon when stepped on. Don’t forget to use Irene’s bell to get to the dungeon you want quicker!
