One of the bigger mechanics in Tales of Graces F Remastered is the Eleth Mixer, but it’s often overlooked because it can be a little confusing. You receive the Eleth Mixer from Captain Malik, after speaking to him in Orlen Woods, at the beginning of the Adulthood Arc. You basically put items in the Eleth Mixer and either have them activate in battle, or make a new item while you’re out exploring. This page will go over how to get the most from your Eleth Mixer, including how to increase the capacity and get more slots.
Eleth Mixer’s Mechanics¶
First and foremost, nothing you put in the Eleth Mixer is actually taken from your inventory, so don’t worry about any rarer items here. In fact, you are able to put anything that has been registered into the Collector’s Book in the mixer, even if you don’t have any of them currently in your inventory. Thus, it’s a good idea to register as many items as you can into your Collector’s Book. When you first start out, you will only have 150 Eleth Capacity and three slots in the mixer. In order to get more capacity, you’ll need to get the mixer to proc any food items, while more item slots are gained by the mixer producing items while exploring.
There is a balancing act that needs to be done here, as the limited slots really hurts a little, while you also want to increase the capacity. A good idea once you first unlock the Eleth Mixer is to put one food item that’s going to trigger often in there, then two items that get made as you walk around. Unlocking more slots should be a top priority at first, too, since you can then utilize those slots to start working on the capacity.
It should be quickly noted that both the food options and items use hidden experience meters to work out the increases for both capacity and slots. One of the better things you can do, especially in regards to duplicating items, is to put the higher probabilty ones lower on the list. For example, if you have two items with a chance of 25% and 5% in your mixer, you will want to put the 5% item above the 25% one. The reason for this is because if it was the other way around, the 25% item would trigger and reset the counter for duplicating, so there would never be a chance for the lesser one to attempt to get duplicated.
Maxing Out the Eleth Mixer¶
Now that you have a basic understanding of the Eleth Mixer, let’s get into how to maximize it. You will pretty much always want one or two food items in there that get triggered every single battle. This will ensure that your capacity will be steadily (albeit slowly) increasing over time. One good item for this is the Fried Rice, as it will trigger anytime a battle takes more than 10 seconds. Once you gain access to Crab, you can then dualize the Crab Fried Rice, which is even better. Any Curry item is nice to have in there, just to help with battles themselves, but they aren’t going to really make the capacity grow.
The only exception to this is the Chicken Curry, as it’s different from the others (doesn’t revive from KO). Combine this with Miso Stew (can use Rice Omelette until you get it), which you can get much later in the main story, and you probably have the best combination. Basically, with that combo, you will trigger those items anytime your Eleth Mixer is greater than (Miso Stew) and lesser than (Chicken Curry) 50%. Put those two dishes in there, as well as the following books:
- Book of Potential
- Book of Satiation
- Book of Growth
- Book of Dissolution
- Book of Frugality
Most of the above books you will get as you go through the main story. The only uncertainty is the Book of Frugality, which requires you to defeat the Rockgagong. You can then go somewhere like Lhant Hill to do simple battles, popping a Dark Bottle to help with enemy spawns. There are other methods, like putting in food that triggers on certain combo hits, then going to an enemy like the Rockgagong, reaching those combo hits and then escaping from battle.
