Sons of The Forest is a sequel to the Forest and it has finally launched on February 24th 2023. Before you head out into the wild, there are some basics you’ll need to know in order to survive, such as getting food, finding water and how to quickly switch your weapon.

You can equip up to two weapons to your backpack.

How To Switch Weapons in Sons of The Forest¶

You may get attacked by cannibals and wild animals, such as Monkeys whilst you’re exploring, cutting down trees etc. These will most likely mean you have you will have an axe equipped which isn’t the best weapon for combat, so you may be wondering if there is a faster way of swapping to something like a gun or spear without having to stop out in the open and leaving yourself open to attacks whilst having to fully open up inventory.

The good news is that there is and that’s via assigning your two preferred weapons to the backpack. In order to do this you’ll want to open up your inventory by pressing and hover over the Backpack at the top to bring it into the center of your screen, then hover over your desired weapons and press to add it to your Backpack. Exit your inventory and then hold to bring out your backpack, then you can quickly select one of the two weapons.
