Sons Of The Forest drops you right in the thick of it. After your helicopter crashes, you’re out there to fend for yourself against both the treacherous terrain and any aggressive natives. While you’ll have Kelvin, your trusty and resourceful companion by your side, let’s face it, you’re going to need others if you want to survive.

Thankfully, there are some beings that you can recruit. Virginia is one of these, but the way you get her on your side is quite specific, leaving many wondering how to actually do it.

This guide will take you through everything you need to know for recruiting Virginia in Sons Of The Forest so you too can gain an additional ally, and alleviate some of the survival burden.

How To Get Virginia In Sons Of The Forest¶

Virginia is a returning character in Sons Of The Forest and if you didn’t play the first iteration, she is the mutant who has three legs and three arms.

If you haven’t seen her already, you will first encounter her on either your first or second night in the game, as long as you haven’t strayed too far away from the helicopter crash or advanced the main story significantly.

First time meeting Virginia in Sons Of The Forest

She will initially be very afraid of you, running away each time she gets even in your remote vicinity. However, if you approach her with nothing in your hands, showing this mutant that you are in fact friendly, she will gradually understand that you mean her no harm.

If you do this over and over on different occasions, she will begin to get closer to you each time. This is an indication that you’re on the right track.

After this, she will eventually sit down with you at your campfire resulting in her successful recruitment. Once this has happened, you will be able to equip her with whatever weapons you have in your inventory, allowing you to go into battle with another ally.

What you can’t do, however, is instruct her to perform tasks for you. This feature is isolated to Kelvin.
