The Crowbell Location

You won’t be able to reach the Hunting Grounds until you reach the Trail of Corruption quest, given to you in Clearfell Encampment after you’ve rescued the Hooded One and gained his services. The Hunting Grounds can be a dangerous place if you’re not careful, and probably the first big step-up in the difficulty, so ensure you have something for every equipment slot by now, and you match the area’s recommended level at least. Poison resistance will serve you well in this area, as you’ll come across many that will use it against you, and as you should know by now, ailments are nothing to ignore in Path of Exile 2.

To the matter at hand, you’ll need to explore the area to find The Crowbell, it’s a large one so it may take you a while. You’ll know you’re on the right path when you walk by a large bell, which should give you a hint about what’s to follow. The gate will slam shut behind you, and, as you reach the end of this linear path, you’ll begin the battle against The Crowbell.

You’ll know you’re on the right path once you walk by this bell.

The Crowbell Boss Strategy

The biggest threat about this battle is the arenas you fight The Crowbell in, as you won’t have a lot of space to move about in, increasing your chances of getting struck. You’ll also not be confined to one area, The Crowbell will retreat at certain points in the battle, and you’ll need to give chase, putting you in even smaller arenas. As with most bosses in Path of Exile 2, you can expect The Crowbell to use plenty of attacks against you, and you can learn about these below:

Ground Pound

The Crowbell will leap to your location and pound the ground with his fists, dealing a shockwave upon impact. As with most attacks from this boss, dodge away from him to avoid this attack.

(1 of 2) The Crowbell will leap toward you and pound the ground when it lands, causing a small AoE.

Pummel

The Crowbell will perform a series of punches that will deal massive damage and could outright kill you if you get hit by them all. As soon as you see him roar, get some distance between you, this is a good time to toss some AoE its range if you have it.

Bell Attack

At around half of its health remaining, The Crowbell will grab the bell you passed and use it to break through the gate, making its way to the final arena. With the bell in hand, it can now smash it into the ground toward you, dealing moderate damage should it hit.

Spin Attack

With the bell in hand, The Crowbell will swing it around itself twice, dealing moderate damage and knockback. This can be hard to avoid with the limited space you have available to yourself here, try to get into one of the corners to avoid it.

(1 of 2) Once it grabs the Bell, it will attempt to slam it your way.

Once it grabs the Bell, it will attempt to slam it your way. (left), It will also perform a spin attack that takes up most of the arena. (right)

The Crowbell relies on two things during this battle, pure brute strength, and the constantly changing battle arenas, most of which offer very little in the way of space to dodge into and thus, puts you right in its clutches to take hits from its punches and spins. It will move for the first time after losing a 1/4 of its health, moving to a small room blocked by two gates where the bell was.

At around half of its health remaining, The Crowbell will move for a second time, this time moving to a small secluded area that it will close off with brambles. To make matters worse, it will use a spin attack with the bell that can cover most of the arena, you’ll need to find the corner away from it to avoid it. This is an opportune time to strike it, however, as it will be open to any ranged attacks you may have available.

Don’t forget to pocket the Book of Specialisation once the Crowbell is defeated.

Once The Crowbell finally falls, grab any loot that may interest you, but the biggest prize here, however, is the Book of Specilisation. When used in your inventory, this will grant you two Passive Skill Points, two of which can be used as Weapon Set Skill Points.
