Mass Effect 3 Legendary Edition

Arena - No Thermal Clips / Charity Reaper Challenge

By
Claire Farnworth

If you really fancy a challenge, combine two together. This is the only time where this guide has combined two challenges, just to show what it is like.

Having no ammo crates lying around can be difficult if you normally use ammo-hungry weapons like the Cerberus Harrier. Enemies will still drop occasional thermal clips but these are few and far between so you really need to rely on your powers. This is why it makes sense to fight Reapers and bring along a biotic squad.

Soldiers and Infiltrators will have more difficulty completing this challenge but it really shouldn’t pose too much of a challenge at this stage, especially if you do the challenges separately. The same can be said for fighting Super Elite Reapers without any modifications. You won’t have to fight too many Banshees and the biggest threat are any Marauders that flank you.

If you choose to combine challenges then things get a little more fun. First thing’s first, it shouldn’t need to be said but use your weapon sparingly where possible. Rely purely on biotic combos and/or stripping barriers and armour. Use your weapon if an enemy gets too close or to pick off foot soldiers who break away from the pack.

Brutes and Ravagers can get stuck here so they are sitting ducks for you to kill at your leisure.

Keep moving, especially if Brutes and Banshees are closing in. Try not to get boxed in or pinned down somewhere where enemies are firing at you from above. The best squad for this is Liara and Javik or Kaiden. Or if you are a biotic yourself, Liara and Kaiden make a perfect team because he can also use Overload to strip barriers and shields.

If you are successful, your reward for completing both challenges (and if you got a score more than 9999) is +17 Reputation , 5000 Credits and a choice of Cerberus armour , as well as the trophy/achievement “ Simulated Hero“ . To access the armour, go to the storefront and select the one you want.

For years, a lone soldier has told tales of the Reapers, of their return, of these sentient machines reaching out across the vastness of space, to harvest all sentient life. But the warnings were all for nothing. Until now. The Reapers have at last come to Earth and these warnings can no longer be ignored. You are Commander Shepard, the first human spectre and elite soldier of the Alliance, tasked with uniting the galaxy in the fight to stop the Reapers destroying everything you hold dear. In your hands lies the fate of the entire Milky Way but luckily, this time, you are no longer alone.
