This page details everything you need to know about how to start the Clayface villain case in Gotham Knights. We’ll cover where to find Clay Mimic enemies in the West End of New Gotham, and what you’ll need to do before you kill them to activate the case.

Clayface 1.1 - The Malleable Mugger¶
Complete Case 2 of the Main Story First¶
It isn’t entirely obvious when and how you can start the first part of Clayface’s Case, but it all starts with The Malleable Mugger. You may not see this in the Cases menu until you’ve defeated enough Clay Mimics and returned to The Belfry, so don’t worry if it’s not appearing before then.
Defeat 5 Clay Mimics in the West End of New Gotham¶
Once you’ve completed Case 2 of the main story, the first thing you’ll need to do in order to start the Clayface Case is go to the West End, located in the western part of New Gotham. Here you can scan for crimes using the AR, where almost every one of them will be being committed by Clay Mimics at this point in the story. All you need to do is defeat the Clay Mimics, and your character will mention that they’re collecting clay samples from them. You’ll need a total of 5 clay samples before you can return to The Belfry and start the case from there.
Keep in mind that the Clay Mimics are resistant to Freeze damage, immune to Shock, and weak to Fire. The same elemental resistances / weaknesses will apply to Clayface during boss battles.
