Information about how to extract a dionesium sample in Case 03: In the Shadows - 3.2 - Chelsea Tunnel in Gotham Knights.

As you attempt to solve Cases (read: quests), you’ll occasionally have to investigate Crime Scenes. This involves scanning various objects by highlighting them with the to gain additional information about them. Once you’ve studied all the objects at a particular crime scene you’ll have to solve a puzzle, usually by matching various crime scene points of interest together by using the information gathered to infer which ones are logically connected. This is done by highlighting one category of object and selecting it by pressing / , then highlighting and selecting other categories of object. If all else fails, you can blindly guess until you match the correct objects, but with this guide you shouldn’t have to!

During 3.2 - Chelsea Tunnel, immediately after finding the excavation research you’ll come across a “Core Extraction Device”, near which is a table containing core samples, a computer, various documents, and several chemicals which you can treat the ore samples with to obtain some dionesium. Gathering some of this substance is essential for continuing your investigation into the Court of Owls.

Examine the desk near the Core Extraction Device and be sure to sweep all five core samples, both documents, the computer screen, and the four chemicals to the left. As usual, you’ll need to use the to survey the area and view the aforementioned points of interest. Your goal here is to find a core sample with some extractable dionesium and some chemicals to facilitate the extraction.

A quick examination of the core samples should narrow things down a bit, as all the samples save for Core Sample [10588-COS] are unsuitable for extraction for various reasons, or have already had their dionesium extracted. Core Sample [10588-COS], however, hasn’t been tampered with, doesn’t have a note attached, and is presumably pristine.

To find what chemical you need to use, examining the monitor gives the game away. Some previous researcher apparently did the job for you and discovered that sulfuric acid is the ideal extraction treatment.

Select Core Sample [10588-COS] and the container of sulfuric acid (highlight them and press the / ), then when both are marked solve the puzzle by pressing the / button.
