What are Ancient Memories?¶
Ancient Memories are wisps of blue-white light that are scattered across the Living Lands in Avowed. There’s one Ancient Memory per region, making up a total of five collectibles with lore and new Godlike Abilities on offer. These passive powers can come in handy towards the end of the game so we suggest collecting them whenever you enter a new region.
(1 of 2) Head to the Watchers Mirror.

Dawnshore¶
The first Ancient Memory can be found at the Watcher’s Mirror in Dawnshore. Head east from The Rise Party Camp and you’ll find it in a Godless Ruin to the northeast end of the region. Once you head to this broken bridge and interact with the wisp of light, a series of cutscenes will play out where you can pick reactions to situations from the past. As long as you don’t lash out or ignore the Voice in these choices, you’ll gain the Remembrance of Kishmal, a Godlike passive that buffs your max health by 10%.
(1 of 2) Go to the Ranger Outpost for the next item.

Emerald Stair¶
The next Ancient Memory is situated at the top of the Ranger Outpost. Head west from the Wildwoods Outskirts Party Camp and it won’t take long for you to see this tall structure. All you have to do is climb ladders until you reach the highest floor. You’ll find the wisp of light waiting for you here. Just like last time, accessing the Ancient Memory will bless you with the Remembrance of Enhekala, boosting your max Essence by 10%. This is helpful if your combat build relies on magic powers.

Shatterscarp¶
The third Ancient Memory lies in the Shatterscarp region. Go west from the Sand Sea Oasis fast travel point and you’ll find a xaurip camp near the Twin Offerings Overlook. Xaurip Chief Grithin lives/works here so take them out to claim a bounty at Thirdborn later. You’ll find some broken bridges that can be crossed with well-timed leaps. Keep heading up and you’ll find the Ancient Memory nestled in an arch-like structure. Interact with it to gain the Remembrance of Nimanna passive. This enhances your max stamina by 10%.
(1 of 2) The Restless Cavern holds the next collectible.

Galawain’s Tusks¶
The next Ancient Memory sits near the Restless Cavern in the Galawain’s Tusks region. It’s to the south of the Slumbering Fields fast travel point and you’ll face a bunch of Phantoms on your way to the collectible. If you’ve already cleared the Boundaries of Antiquity side quest, the water won’t be poisoned and you can directly swim to the Restless Cavern. If not, you’ll have to face some enemies as you parkour your way to the top. Interact with this memory to obtain the Remembrance of Maru passive, which raises your attack damage by 10%.
(1 of 2) Here lies the final Ancient Memory.
Here lies the final Ancient Memory. (left), Get Yatzli to open the door to this collectible. (right)
The Garden¶
The final Ancient Memory lies past the Broken Aqueduct in the Garden. Remember that entering this location serves as a point of no return. If you want the achievement for getting all Ancient Memories, you need to pick up the previous four collectibles before entering the Garden.
Once Sapadal raises a broken structure in the main quest within the Garden, look around for a door instead of climbing these pieces. The door has a purple ball over it and Yatzli will open it for you. Head in and you’ll find the final collectible. Interacting with it grants you the Remembrance of Sapadal Godlike Ability. This lets you regenerate your health when it drops lower than 50%. This also means that poison and other status effects won’t be as potent against you. That covers all the Ancient Memories in Avowed and the buffs they bring to the table.
