Treasure maps, scattered across the world and in the hands of vendors, let you get strong enough to take on Avowed’s many bounties and threats. Captain Henqua’s Spoils might be the first treasure map you find but its reward is rather well-hidden. Here’s what you need to know to obtain and clear the Captain Henqua’s Spoils treasure map quest in Avowed.

Get this map from a corpse on the Lighthouse.

Finding the Captain Henqua’s Spoils Treasure Map

You can find this map at the Lighthouse to the left of Claviger’s Landing in Dawnshore. It’s a short walk that you can do right after clearing the tutorial section. Get to the Lighthouse and climb the ladder placed on its left side.

(1 of 2) The Lighthouse might look tall but it only takes a couple of jumps to explore it.

You’ll need to jump quite a bit between platforms to climb the desolate building. Once you reach a hole in the Lighthouse, you’ll find a set of planks to the left, leading away from the hole. Walk on them and you’ll find a corpse with the map.

Locating Captain Henqua’s Spoils

This treasure can be found to the right of the Western Pargrun Wall Beacon in Dawnshore. The beacon itself is to the west of Paradis. Head to the point marked on the map below. If you spot a stream, you’re heading in the right direction.

(1 of 4) Head right from the Western Pargrun Wall Beacon.

Next, you’ll need to dive into the water and look for a tunnel underwater. Get in and resurface to find the unique Wind and Wave shield next to a chest with more loot. This Fine rarity shield boosts your movement speed by 10% and makes it harder for you to accumulate the Frost condition from enemy attacks. It’s particularly effective with a dagger since you can close in on enemies quickly. This resolves the Captain Henqua’s Spoils treasure map quest.
