By
Matt Chard

Once you take a look at your "PDA" iconPDA and realize the size of the map in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, you’ll be wondering if you can fast travel. Well, the answer to that question, is yes, yes, you can. However, there are some requirements before you can unlock this feature, so read on to find out how to fast travel in Stalker 2.

Fast Travel Video Guide

If you want to learn how to fast travel in Stalker 2 by seeing, rather than reading, check out the video below. If you want it written form, then keep reading.

Unlocking Fast Travel

To fast travel in Stalker 2, you’ll need to speak to the guides in each major camp. The first guide you’ll speak to is Uncle Lyonya, who can be found in the in the northwestern house in Zalissya (Map Marker). If you zoom into the map at a hub area (Zalissya, Slag Heap etc.) you can find the guide icon, which looks like a target. However, speaking to the guide isn’t enough, you’ll need to speak to another guide before you can travel to that location.

To unlock fast travel, you need to speak to a Guide. The first you’ll speak to is Uncle Lyonya in Zalissya. (left), Progressing the main story quest will take you to Slag Heap, where you’ll find the second guide, Bonkers. (right)

The next guide you’ll meet is Bonkers in the Slag Heap of "Garbage" iconGarbage provided you’re following the main story quests. Once you’ve spoken to two guides, you can use them to fast travel to that location, but it’ll cost you. The minimum fee for fast travel is 1500 K, which is expensive enough that you won’t use it too often, but not expensive enough, that you won’t use it at all. Due to the size of The Zone, you’ll most likely be using the guides services a fair bit the further you get into the game, especially when you begin to stockpile some coupons (K).

Early on, you won’t have the spare cash to spend on fast travel, so you’ll most likely be walking back and forth between the first two zones. If that sounds like too much walking (it is a long walk), a good way to make cash early on is to repair the weapons you find from bandits at Lens the Technician in Zalissya, and then sell them to Hamster for a small profit. Keep in mind that you’ll only make a profit if the weapon isn’t too damaged (yellow repair icon, not red). Another good way to make early cash is to speak to Warlock behind the bar in Zalissya, and take a few jobs from him to increase your funds.

Speak to a guide and tell them you’re looking for a guide, and they’ll ask where to. Select the place, pay the cash, and you’ll teleport straight to the location.

That’s it for fast travel in Stalker 2, it’s not a perfect system, but it works with how the game plays. It’s always best to do all the missions at each hub first before moving on to the next as it will save you money in the long term as you won’t need to fast travel as much.
