As you approach the end of Chapter 6 - Environmental Hazard mission of the Dead Space 2023 remake, you’ll find yourself going up against the Leviathan. This will navigate you through necessary steps to defeating it.
You’ll face the Leviathan in the Food Storage.
Best Way To Defeat The Leviathan¶
Once you’ve progressed through Chapter 6 and reached the Food Storage room, proceed inside and you’ll find yourself in a 0 gravity room whilst staring directly at the Leviathan. It is a pretty large enemy which could be pretty daunting to some, but the battle itself is relatively simple and here is how to do it.

Before focusing on the Leviathan, stand over to the edge of the platform and use your Kinesis Ability to grab some Ammo and Med Packs, then start hover. The first phase of this battle will involve you having to take out it’s three tentacles which will be shot out from the top left, top right or bottom holes. Wait for the Leviathan to make a sound and then glide to the left and right of the arena to avoid it getting hit.
How To Destroy The Leviathan’s Tentacle’s¶
You’ll now notice a large orange sack at the bottom of the tentacle which you’ll have to destroy within a few seconds. This can be easily done by throwing an Explosive Barrel at it or by using the Contact Beam. Once you’ve destroyed all three tentacles, Leviathan’s mouth will open up and fire explosive sacks towards you. Here you’ll want to grab the explosive sack with your Kinesis and launch it back into it’s mouth.
After you’ve successfully launched the sack back into it’s mouth, phase 2 of this battle will begin and you’ll now be on a time limit, as the oxygen in your suit will be depleting. Additionally, you’ll now have to deal with both the explosive sacks and tentacles at the same time.

Don’t bother shooting the tentacles and just move side to side to avoid them and just focus all your attention on the sacks. It’ll throw out three sacks at time, so shoot the first and second and then grab third with your Kinesis and launch it back into its mouth like in the previous phase. Repeat this process whilst using the Contact Beam to shoot its mouth from time to time to finish it off.
