This page explains choosing a guide for Viper Manor in Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition.

When you first arrive in the port town of Termina, you’ll receive a mission to infiltrate Viper Manor. However, you can’t do it without borrowing some help.

There are three characters you can recruit to sneak you into Viper Manor. During one playthrough, you can only recruit one of these characters.

If you Choose Nikki¶

You can recruit Nikki by visiting the large ship docked at the western harbor in Termina. In the backstage area, speak to the person near the top-right corner. Miki will run in and you’ll be roped into her plan. Agree to help.

Now exit to the world map and make for Shadow Forest, towards the far east. Inside, venture all the way west until you run into Nikki surrounded by monsters. Beat them up and follow him inside the waterfall cave. You can recruit him to your party.

From here, follow this page to enter Viper Manor from the underground tunnel.

If you Choose Pierre¶

To recruit Pierre, look for the smithy in Termina. From the town entrance, go east one screen, then north one screen. Inside the smithy, go around to the back room. Speak to Pierre inside. Then exit towards the back garden. Speak to the kid running around to obtain the Hero’s Medal, then show it to Pierre.

From here, follow this page to barge through the front gate of Viper Manor. Did we really need Pierre for this?!

If you Choose Guile¶

Finally, to recruit Guile, check out the bar near the town entrance. This mysterious masked fellow is relaxing by the bar counter. Just strike up a conversation and you can convince him to join. That was… easy.
