Daggers Playstyle¶
Category | Rating |
---|---|
Speed | 3 |
Recovery | 3 |
Advance | 3 |
Damage | 1 |
Stagger | 1 |
Strike Area | 1 |
All the ratings above are out of three, so as you can see, the Daggers are your quick weapon where you want to lunge in, get a few attacks in, and then retreat. As you can see by looking at the stats, they are one of the fastest weapon types in the game, have immediate recovery, and also have a max Advance stat. However, they won’t deal as much damage as the larger weapons, at least, not as quickly. They won’t stagger most enemies outside of the smaller enemies, and finally, their Strike Area will only hit the spot you aim at, and not any other area.
What this means is that the Daggers have fast attacks, allowing you to get multiple hits off before you have to reposition. Your charged attacks will close large distances, and after your attack combos, you’ll be able to get out of potential harm relatively easily, provided you have the Stamina.
Daggers Unlocks¶
Like all weapons, there are five in total, each requiring you to defeat a specific enemy a specific amount of times before you unlock the Forge Scroll for it. Some of these enemies won’t be available to much further in the game, meaning you won’t be able to unlock some of these weapons until much later on. In the table below, you’ll find each Daggers you can unlock as well as what enemies you need to kill for it.

Double Kukris¶
The Double Kukris are great for damage but your stamina will drain quickly.
Styles | Characteristics |
---|---|
Slashing/Piercing | Weighted (+Momentum, -Stamina, -Dodge) Top Heavy (+Momentum, -Parry, -Stamina) Recurved (+Laceration, -Penetration, -Durability) |
Daggers become available later on in the game with the Double Kukris being the first you’ll unlock. Technically, you can unlock them in the first area, but that requires you farming the one specific enemy that appears in Bessacar Hamlet 30 times. The better way to defeat the 30
Athanatoi Marauders, is to wait until you reach the
Kar-Lethel Swamp as you’ll find plenty there. The Double Kukris are a pure offensive weapon that is best used using the Slashing style as the penetration for the weapon isn’t the best. The downside of this weapon is it’ll lose its durability quickly and be a drain on your Stamina. Here is how we’d build the Double Kukris:
- Blade: 28“ Recurved
- Cross Section: Concave
- Pommel: Small
Building them this way focuses on increasing the Slashing damage, but not at the cost of too much Durability or Stamina loss.
Double Bichwas¶
The Double Bichwas are a weapon balanced for offense and defense.
Styles | Characteristics |
---|---|
Slashing/Piercing | Bottom Heavy (-Momentum, +Parry, + Stamina) Block (+Block, -Stamina) Curved (+Laceration, -Penetration) Flamed (+Laceration, -Block, -Parry) |
You won’t be able to unlock the Double Bichwas until much later on as it involves defeating 30
Sworn Novices, which you won’t encounter until you reach the second map, Tok’s Kingdom. Even when you reach there, it’ll take a bit of time to fight these enemies. However, when you do find them, you’ll unlock them pretty quickly, as there are a lot of them in the area they first appear in, which is near
The Egion’s Abbey. For the weapon itself, it has a nice balance between offense and defense as the flamed design offers a damage boost at the cost of durability, and it’s bottom-heavy, which favors parrying. Here’s how we’d build the Double Bichwas:
- Blade: 16“ Curved
- Cross Section: Concave
- Guard: Medium
- Pommel: Very Small
This will give you a nice mix of Slashing, Durability, and Parry, at the cost of Stamina, Penetration, and Sharpening Cost.
Double Sai¶
The Double Sai are best used for an evasive and defensive playstyle due to their light frame and hooked design that enhances parrying.
Styles | Characteristics |
---|---|
Slashing | Light (-Momentum, +Stamina, +Dodge) Block (+Block, -Stamina) Ricasso (+Block, +Parry, -Sharpening) |
The Double Sai is perfect for anyone who wants to lead into the evasive playstyle due to the lightness and agility of the weapon. This weapon is best suited to play a hit and run style where you get in, perform a short attack sequence, and then get out. However, they also allow you to play up close due to their respectable Block and quick Parry stats.
Double Dirks¶
The Double Dirks have bonuses to Slashing and Piercing, making them rather unique.
Styles | Characteristics |
---|---|
Slashing/Piercing | Light (-Momentum, +Stamina, +Dodge), Spiked (+Laceration, +Penetration, -Parry, -Sharpening) |
You won’t unlock the Double Dirks until you reach the Dryad’s Forest in Chapter 3. The reason for this is that you’ll need to defeat 30
Dryads. You’ll find them on the western side of the forest. The Double Dirks are quick weapons, thanks to their Light frame, but they lose a little momentum to make up for it. These weapons excel at both Slashing and Piercing, while also being great for evasion. Build the weapon prioritizing Slashing, Piercing, and Dodge.
Double Krisses¶
The Double Krisses are all about power. These are perfect for the aggressive playstyle where defense is not needed.
Styles | Characteristics |
---|---|
Slashing | Block (+Block, -Stamina) Flamed (+Laceration, -Block, -Parry) |
The Double Krisses favors damage over defense, where you’re happy to trade attacks until one of you falls. Its unmatched attack is offset by its lackluster defense, where missing the timing of an attack could leave you in peril. You’ll unlock the Double Krisses when you defeat 3
King Narameth, Lord of Lightning, which you won’t fight until you reach Tok’s Kingdom (second map). Even when reaching this map, you’ll need to explore the region to you reach the Celestial Cave in
Roggs Mountains for the first King.
All Daggers Seneschal Locations¶
Throughout your adventure, you’ll encounter statues, known as Seneschals, that, when presented with a weapon belonging to that type, will unlock a new part to use in the forging process. You can see on the Forger’s Scroll screen how many parts a weapon can unlock, and you will only gain a part for the weapon presented. The table below will show you where to find all the Daggers Seneschals.
