Most games have some form of obligatory collectible(s) and Space Marine 2 is no exception, filling out its lore via the inclusion of Dataslates littered across both its campaign mode and Operations mode missions. Collecting them all means completing - and thoroughly searching - all seven campaign missions and six Operations mode missions, and this page will help you find all these collectible Dataslates in Space Marine 2.

Finding Dataslates in Space Marine 2¶
There are a total of 35 Dataslates in Space Marine 2, 23 in the game’s seven campaign missions and another twelve in the six Operation’s mode missions. Campaign missions are inconsistent, housing between two and four Dataslates each, while every Operations mode mission has two:

Dataslates aren’t usually all that hard to find - they glow green until you interact with them, and in a number of cases this makes them somewhat easy to spot, provided you’re searching every nook and cranny. Most levels in Space Marine 2 aren’t overly long and extraneous segments are even more confined, so as long as you’re just running around the perimeter of each level, you should find most of the Dataslates. You don’t get rewarded for being quick, so outside of Operations mode there’s no penalty for dawdling. In Operations mode enemy waves can spawn over time, which can make finding Dataslates a bit more dangerous, but play at the lowest difficulty and you’ll make the search much easier.
Most Dataslates can be found on tables, machinery, or ground (often near corpses - environmental storytelling and all that), almost always along some wall or boundary, never out in the open. The game’s also not that sneaky or mean about hiding them - you will never find Dataslates in any low visibility area like the dust storms on Ballistic Engine, or in any timed location or segment with environmental hazards, like the Rippers in Severance. The closest the game comes to this is the Dataslate hidden in a building during the Heldrake bridge segment during Reliquary, and even then, you’ll find the Dataslate in a location safe from the Heldrake. There are no Dataslates hidden under boxes, either, so you don’t even need to be that diligent about destroying environmental objects.
The most sneaky Dataslates in Space Marine 2 are arguably the two found during Jump Pack segments during Severance and Voidsong - both are out of reach and require you to take the insane step of looking up for ledges you might be able to reach by using the jump packs. Another Dataslate found during Dawn’s Descent could qualify, but you have to jump over to the platform it’s located on, so as long as you’re following the general rule of running the perimeter of each area you should find it. Other than the Jump Pack Dataslates, there’s a Dataslate found during Severance behind a sealed door that can only be opened via an unmarked terminal. Most terminals you have to interact with are invariably end up with objective markers, leaving this as one of the few terminals in the entire game that is both unmarked and not mandatory to progress.

Checking Dataslate Progress¶
You can check what Dataslates you’ve collected by entering the “Battle Barge” menu on the Battle Barge and navigating to the “Dataslate Repository”, where all the Dataslates for each mission you’ve attempted will be listed. If there’s a filled-in icon, you’ve found the corresponding Dataslate, and you can replay it at any time. Convenient! If the spot is blank, you missed it. Dataslates are listed chronologically, from left to right, so if you’re missing, say, the first Dataslate on Machinus Divinitus, you’ll at least know it’s near the beginning of the mission… or at least before the second Dataslate on the list.
Once you interact with a Dataslate, it’s added to your collectibles whether you complete this mission or not. This makes it somewhat easy to find some Dataslates, as you don’t need to replay entire missions to collect them. Unfortunately there are no mid-mission checkpoints you can resume from following the completion of a mission, so if you miss a Dataslate near the end of a level, you’ll be replaying everything up to that point. It’s also worth noting that the final mission of the campaign, Bellum Sempiternus, cannot be replayed directly from the Battle Barge - you have to play through the entirety of Dawn’s Descent again to get another crack at the final campaign mission’s dataslates.

Skyfire Dataslates¶
