Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury

World 3-2: Chain-Link Charge

Jarrod Garripoli

As you start the level, you’ll notice that the screen will be scrolling so you need to keep up. Hop over the first fence and hit the ?-Block for a power-up, which could be the Super Bell. You will want the Cat Suit for this level, as it makes things simpler and is required to claim some of the items. Continue right past the enemies to a Coin ?-Block that allows unlimited coins; just watch out for the fence that sweeps across. Ahead, you can obtain another power-up if you hit the hidden block above the bricks. You’ll approach a somewhat trickier area now with a few moving fences. After the first leap you can spot Green Star #1 so climb up or wall jump to claim it.

(1 of 2) The first Green Star will be in the air not too far from the beginning

The first Green Star will be in the air not too far from the beginning (left), The second Green Star will be at the end of the first section (right)

There are some Donut Blocks that will disappear if you stand on them for too long but it’s the only safe way across without a power-up; with the Cat Suit simply do a mid-air pounce and you’ll glide gracefully to the Warp Box. Before taking the Warp Box, though, realize that the screen stops scrolling for a moment. So, make a leap past the fences to your right and you will find Green Star #2 on a cloud platform.

Through the Warp Box you find the Checkpoint Flag, but you can’t take a breather yet, as the level will start scrolling again. Defeat the Biddybuds, then snag the power-up as you climb up then across a string of Donut Blocks. As the screen moves up, you’ll find a fence with a clear pipe nearby. You can do one of two things here, depending on if you have the Cat Suit or not. If you do, then you can climb the wall in front of the pipe to grab the Stamp; use the shadows to know where to go. If not, then you should take the clear pipe as soon as you see it, allowing you enough time to drop down to the Stamp, then use the pipe again.

(1 of 2) The Stamp is in the air by the clear pipe

The Stamp is in the air by the clear pipe (left), Hit the cat wheel to raise a platform and reach the third Green Star (right)

It’s much easier with the Cat Suit, as you don’t need to do any jumping at all, plus if the screen scrolls too far up, then you will lose a life if you fall down. Above the Stamp, there will be a Cat Wheel, so hit it repeatedly to raise a platform to the right, then climb up it to grab Green Star #3. From here, you need to be patient and leap over the fences, past the Biddybuds, and over to the Warp Box. Hit the Cat Wheel in the Goal Pole area to raise a platform that makes it possible to leap to the top, but with the Cat Suit you can just make a half-way jump since you’ll climb to the top anyway.
