Description¶
The Lucent Nargacuga is a rare sub-species of Nargacuga encountered during G-Rank quests. This fiendish beast gains the ability to poison hunters by striking with its tail or firing spikes from it. It can also render itself invisible for mere moments while it moves.

Key Attacks¶
Tail Sweep : The Lucent Nargacuga will swings its tail around its body and then some, covering three quarters of a circle around itself. It will remain facing the same direction.
Flip Slam : The Lucent Nargacuga replaces its head with its tail, slamming it down in the process. The Lucent Narga may do this twice.
Wing Pounce : The Lucent Nargacuga hops back and faces a side to the player before launching forward with its wing several times, covering a lot of ground.
Needle Shot : The Lucent Nargacuga holds its tail above its head, aimed at the hunter, and shoots a volley of needles straight towards them.
360 Sweep : The Lucent Nargacuga quickly spins on the spot with its tail outstretched, wiping out any hunters standing around it.
Invisible Slashes : The Lucent Nargacuga’s many swipes are accompanied by the beast turning invisible.
Recommended Strategy¶
The Lucent Nargacuga demands a very similar strategy to the Barioth thanks to their shared attacks. This said the Lucent Nargacuga should be considered a greater threat when it is at range from the hunter due to its aimed needle shot, while its tail slam is a significant danger to any hunter attacking its head.
As such you’re recommended to move more than when tackling a Barioth and try to keep the cuga at arms reach - its tail can appear quickly if you just try and run straight at the beast.
Take full advantage of the Narga’s downtime between attacks (especially if it gets its tail stuck in the ground from a tail slam) to run close to it and hit it, preferably under its belly and use Flash Bombs to stun him regularly.
The Lucent Nargacuga is even more fiendish than its green cousin. As well as making its tail an even greater danger by inflicting poison, its also faster, and will fill the arena with spikes with any swish of its tail. Yikes!
The place you want to be, therefore, is right under the Narga. This isn’t easy, of course, but keep moving. A high Evasion skill is recommended. Then, when the Narga uses a move and finds itself close to you, move under and deal some damage.
