Nathan “Nate” Adams
Nate is one of the two main protagonists in the game (he’s the only protagonist in the anime). He is pretty average and enjoys being with his friends, whether they are human or Yokai. He can get pretty annoyed at certain things, especially if they are troublesome.
Katie Forester
Katie is the female protagonist in the game, although she doesn’t share the spotlight with Nate in the anime. She is considered very kind and playful, as well as very popular. Unlike Nate, she wears the Yokai Watch around her neck as a necklace.
Whisper
The self-proclaimed Yokai Butler, Whisper is first encountered in the game whenever the protagonist frees him from the capsule they get from the capsule machine they happen upon in the woods. He can be sarcastic at times and prides himself on his knowledge of the Yokai, although he is known to check up whenever one presents itself.
Jibanyan
As a Yokai of the Charming tribe, Jibanyan was once a normal cat that belonged to a human named Amy. After being hit by a truck and killed, he lives on as a Yokai at the same intersection where he was hit, seeking revenge on passing trucks.
