Awevil can be found behind the large door in the central area of the Underground Waterway, but in order to open it, you will need to pull three switches located throughout the place (they are similar to the switches found in the Abandoned Tunnel). Since the Underground Waterway contains a lot of locked gates that can only be opened from one side, you will need to travel throughout Springdale to find the correct entrances to the locations of the switches.
The first one can be found by entering the manhole that can be found in the Delivery Bay alley in Downtown. As soon as you enter, cross the bridge next to you and hit the switch to the south. The second one can be found by entering the manhole in the Shopping Street Narrows alley in Shopper’s Row. Once you enter the waterway, cross the first bridge and the switch will be right there.
Pull the three levers in the sewers (left) to open the big gate, where you’ll find Awevil (right).
The final switch will take a little bit more time to get to, so head to Breezy Hills and find the waterway entrance that is accessible from the north end of the western riverbank (it looks like you’re going under a bridge). Once inside the waterway, you can follow the path ahead of you, ignoring all bridges, until you come to a locked gate you can open. Past this, head north, ignoring the first bridge and crossing the second, then passing over one more bridge to get to the northeast corner of this little area, where you’ll find the switch. To easily get to Awevil, you can go through the drain by the western riverbank in Uptown.

The following are considered Legendary Yokai that can only be gotten by befriending a total of eight other related Yokai. If you go to your Medallium (the one with the pages under the Info option), you will find a few pages with eight slots in a circle on the bottom screen. The top screen will list some Yokai (others will have ???), which is who you will need to befriend. Once you have gotten them all, go to the page and press the A button to get that particular Legendary Yokai. So, instead of listing a location, the names of the eight Yokai you need to befriend will be listed.
