This is a guide for the second area in The Quarantine Zone in The Last of Us: Part 1. It’ll navigate you through the necessary steps to finding all Beyond The Wall Collectibles and reaching the Slums.

Where To Find The Beyond The Wall Optional Conversation¶
Head around the corner and get your Backpack, Flash-Light and a 9MM Handgun along with Handgun Ammo x4, then boost Tess up and head outside. Approach Tess to engage in optional conversation, then follow her until you reach a building with a hole in the wall. Here you’ll want to pick up the ladder behind a car.

Place it against the building and climb up, then you can find Parts x3 in the kitchen. These can be used for upgrading weapons at Workbenches. Head into the other room to find the Firefly Pendant - David Michael Vigil.
Head downstairs and go through the hall and Joel will automatically put on his gas mask to avoid the spores, then move through the hole in the wall and remove the beams to continue. In this next room you can grab some Handgun Ammo x2 and either kill guy that got stuck that is stuck.
How To Defeat Runners¶
Proceed a little further through the room and you’ll stumble across three Runners. Here you can strangle the first one by sneaking up behind it and pressing triangle 
followed by square 
to strangle it. Ignore the two Runners eating on the right and sneak over to the kitchen.
You’ll be able to find a Health Bar which can be used to restore any lost health. Next up, remain crouched and ahead upstairs, then enter the room behind the closed door to find a Health Bar and a Note to Brother.
How To Get To The Slums¶
Sneak over the wooden planks and drop down, then follow Tess into another building. Move through the hole in the wall and pick up the plank and bring it over to Tess, then head back up and walk across it. .

Drop down and walk through the alley, then underneath the fallen platform to reach a small area. Here you’ll want to look at the tree in front of you to find a Firefly Pendant - Ben Glueck - 106 hanging from it. Shoot it to cause it to fall down, then collect it before entering the building where Tess is waiting to reach the market.
