Versus Psychic-type Pokemon

This gym is a maze, but you’ll never get lost if you follow our directions.

It’s a Psychic-type gym! Check the table above for informations on what types to bring and what types to avoid. If you have Dark-type Pokemon, you’re sorted. Begin by heading into the centre of the room and it will disappear! Now it’s a maze to reach the Gym Leader. Take the north path and follow it until the first Psychic takes you on.

Gym Member Battle: Psychic Paschal

Pokémon Level Type
"Exeggutor" IconExeggutor 46 Grass/Psychic

Follow the path around to the yellow square. Step on it and you’ll teleport down to the level below. Head east to the next yellow square. Step on it and you’ll teleport back up to the level above once more. Head south and teleport back down again.

Continue south, teleport again then head south one more time and you’ll be stopped by another Psychic. You can avoid this one by going around him if you wish to. If not, take him on!

Gym Member Battle: Psychic Harry

Pokémon Level Type
"Medicham" IconMedicham 46 Fighting/Psychic

Once he’s beaten, continue south. You’ll now be able to either head east or west. Head east as west is a dead end. Teleport at the end then head north and teleport again. You’re now at the purple level. You can avoid the next trainer by taking the eastern of the two paths taking you north, but if not then take him down!

Gym Member Battle: Psychic Arthur

Pokémon Level Type
"Reuniclus" IconReuniclus 46 Psychic

Head west, then south, down to the next square. Stand on it to teleport. Now if you head north you can do an optional battle against a Hex Maniac. Do so if you need the practice or experience!

Gym Member Battle: Hex Maniac Arachna

Pokémon Level Type
"Jynx" IconJynx 46 Ice/Psychic

Now head back to the square and take the path leading west. There’s another trainer here who you can once again avoid if you take the path behind her. If not then take her on!

Gym Member Battle: Hex Maniac Melanie

Pokémon Level Type
"Gardevoir" IconGardevoir 46 Psychic/Fairy

Head west over to the yellow square. Teleport down to the floor below and head north to the Gym Leader. You can backtrack out of the gym and heal yourself first if you want. It’s a lengthy journey but it might be worth it. Once you’re ready, talk with her and the battle will start! Here goes!

Gym Leader Battle! Leader Olympia

Olympia has a combination of Psychic, Flying and Water-type Pokémon.

Pokémon Level Type
"Sigilyph" IconSigilyph 44 Psychic/Flying
"Slowking" IconSlowking 45 Water/Psychic
"Meowstic" IconMeowstic 48 Psychic

Slowking evolves from a Slowpoke when traded whilst holding the King’s Rock.

For "Sigilyph" IconSigilyph, keep your Bug-types are bay for now, since it’s part Flying and strong against Bugs. "Slowking" IconSlowking and "Meowstic" IconMeowstic are simple enough to trounce; for Slowking you can punish him with your powerful Grass or Electric-type Pokemon too.

Once you beat Olympia she’ll give you the Psychic Badge . Woot! This means that any Pokémon up to Level 90 that you received in a trade will obey. You’ll also receive TM04 - Calm Mind . After that she’ll ask if you want to be warped back to the entrance. Answer “yes” and you’ll appear back in the original room. Head on outside.

Your rival will come and speak with you and you’ll both receive a Holo Clip from Lysandre. He’ll announce Team Flare’s evil plan and finally reveal himself as their leader. Oh noes! Heal up and Fly to the centre of Lumiose City. We’ve got business there.
