This build is made specifically for PvE, especially Expeditions. Although it will work in PvP, it’s not optimized for it.
Attributes¶
For this build, put every attribute point you get into focus, this will increase the power of your heals, as well as help you with your mana. At level 60, you’ll want to have 300 Focus, with the rest in Constitution for a bit of survivability. So use gear which has Focus and Con.
Points | Perk |
---|---|
50 | +10% mana regeneration rate. +10% fishing line tension. |
100 | +20 to mana pool. +10% yield increase when salvaging. |
150 | +20% healing output. -10% decrease in weight of fishin items. |
200 | +20% duration on casted buffs. +10% fishing line tension. |
250 | +30 mana on any self or group kills. +10% increase to caught fish size. |
300 | When mana hits zero, gain 200% mana regen for 10s (60s cooldown). -10% cooldown reduction for Inn fast travel. |
Healing Spells¶
Icon | Name | Description |
---|---|---|
Sacred Ground | Create an area on the ground that lasts for 15s and heals 20% weapon damage every second. | |
Light’s Embrace | Targeted heal for 100% weapon damage +30% more for each buff on that target. | |
Beacon | Shoot out a light projectile that deals 146% weapon damage to enemies, attaches to it’s target and heals all nearby allies for 20% weapon damage each second for 10s. |
The only spell you want from the Healing Tree is Sacred Ground, place it on your tank at the beginning of a fight, and keep it up off cooldown. With your high Focus, this alone can heal for most of the outgoing damage on the tank, and melee DPS providing they play their class right. The other two spells in your arsenal will be Light’s Embrace and Beacon from the Protector tree. Although Divine Embrace heals slightly more than Light’s Embrace, it has a longer cooldown, and costs more mana. Also, if you have buffs on the target you want to heal (which you will), Light’s Embrace will end up healing for more.
Beacon is taken due to it being a more versatile, but not as stong Sacred Ground. What makes this great is you can shoot it at any object (including players, and enemies) and the heal regen will emit an area of effect where ever they go! This is best used either in rotation with Sacred Ground so you can alternate between the two, or if a lot of healing is needed at a specific time, use it with Sacred Ground for a very strong area of effect heal regeneration.
Healing Tree Perks¶
Icon | Name | Description |
---|---|---|
Absolved | Lifestaffs Light and Heavy attack no longer take mana. | |
Mending Touch | Lifestaffs Heavy Attack now removes 1 debuff when passing through an ally. | |
Blissful Touch | Light attacks now heal target for 20% weapon damage when passing through an ally. | |
Holy Ground | Regenerate Stamina and Mana 100% faster while in Sacred Ground. | |
Blessed | While allies are in Sacred Ground they are healed for 50% more from all healing. | |
Revitalize | When you hit with a light attack reduce all your cooldowns by -5% | |
Desperate Speed | When you heal an ally with less than 50% health, Life Staff ability’s cooldowns are reduced by -10%. (Can only be triggered once every 5 seconds) | |
Intensify | Heavy Attacks give you increase healing by 10% for 10s (max 3 stacks.) | |
Sacred Protection | While holding a lifestaff: increase the amount of incoming healing to all friendlies in your group by 5%. | |
Divine Blessing | When you heal an ally if their health is below 50%: heal for 30% more. |
Most of the perks taken here will either increase your healing, reduce your cooldowns or help you with your mana. Revitalize and Intensify are particularly strong perks. If you do three heavy attacks at the enemy, you will get three stacks (one stack per heavy attack) which will increase your healing done by 30%! Revitalize on the other hand will reduce your cooldowns by 5% on every light attack. Make use of these to increase your healing output.
Protector Tree Perks¶
Icon | Name | Description |
---|---|---|
Bend Light | After a dodge, your heals are 20% more effective for 5s. | |
Protector’s Touch | Lifestaffs Light and Heavy grant 15% Fortify for 3s when hitting an enemy. (Fortify reduces incoming damage.) | |
Protector’s Strength | If you have a buff, heal for 10% more. | |
Infused Light | Beacons area of effect is now 50% larger. | |
Radiance’s Blessing | Beacon lasts 5s longer. | |
Glowing Focus | Buffs you grant last 20% longer. |
These perks will either, improve Beacon, improve your buffs. Bend Light is a great perk, this will buff your healing by 20% for 5s after a dodge. This can be any dodge, and doesn’t have to avoid an attack to work. So if you need an extra stong heal, dodge, then cast it. For the last perk, Glowing Focus, you can swap for Spirits United depending whether you want your buffs to last 20% longer or 3% mana regeneration for you and your group.
Ice Gauntlet - Secondary Weapon¶
Your secondary for a healer is all down to preference. Ice Gauntlet will give you a mana regen, and survivability with Entombed, control with Ice Storm, and a debuff with Ice Shower. If you choose this route, equip Light Armor for the 20% Healing, and Damage increase or Medium for 10% Healing, 10% Damage, 10% longer crowd control, and a little more survivability.
Taking the Ice Gauntlet as a secondary weapon will give you some control by slowing enemies down, and reducing their defense by 10% with Ice Shower. The best thing about the Gauntlet though, is if you get a lot of threat, and enemies start to attack you, use Entombed, this’ll encase you in a crystallized shield made of Ice, and make you impervious to any damage whilst it regenerates your mana!
The first spell you’ll want to take is Ice Storm. This’ll slow enemies down by 25% for 5 seconds, taking some pressure off your healer and tank when you’re in large encounters with many enemies. The second one will be Ice Shower, this will root enemies in their place for one second, put slow on the enemies for 50%, and with the last perk Frigid Showers, it’ll drop their defense by 10%. This is best used against sturdier enemies with shields, or bosses/mini-bosses. The last spell Entombed, will make you impervious to any damage for 10 seconds providing the shield doesn’t break, regenerate your mana, and when you exit the shield, it’ll deal modest damage to any enemies nearby it, and remove any debuffs you have on you, and give you a 25% defense buff.
Ice Gauntlet Spells¶
Icon | Name | Description |
---|---|---|
Ice Storm | A ranged attack that deals 17% weapon damage every 0.25 seconds and slows enemies within a 5-meter radius frosted area. 25% slow, 20-meter range, and 5 second duration. | |
Ice Shower | Summon a shower of ice that creates a frosted area approximately 1 meter by 5 meters. Enemies that enter the Ice Shower will be stricken with a powerful Frostbite. Frostbite roots for 1 second, blocks sprinting and dodging, slows speed by 50%, and will remain on target for 3 second after exiting the Ice Shower. Ice Shower has a lifetime of 4 seconds. | |
Entombed | Players can entomb themselves in ice to become invulnerable and greatly increase mana regen. The Ice Tomb has a lifetime of 10 seconds and can be destroyed. Players have two options to cancel Entomb, exit by pressing RMB or break out of the Ice Tomb by pressing LMB, causing a damaging knockback for 20 mana. |

Frigid Showers | Frostbite applies Rend to target, reducing defense 10%. | |
Defiant Freeze | Casting an Ice ability creates an ice hardened layer, granting 20% fortify for 2 seconds. |

Gear¶
Armor¶
Armor in New World has three weight classes, light, medium, and heavy. You’ll get different bonuses for each weight class.
Weight | Bonus | How to achieve |
---|---|---|
Light | +20% bonus damage, and healing | Under 13 kg Equip Load (found next to your equipped weapons in the inventory screen) |
Medium | +10% bonus damage, and healing, +10% crowd control debuffs last longer | Over 13 kg, Under 23kg Equip Load |
Heavy | +15% Block Stability, +20 % crowd control debuffs last longer | Over 23 kg Equip Load |
Once again this is preferece. Light will make your heals and damage stronger at a cost of survivability. Medium will give you better crowd control, better survivability, and a slightly better heal than heavy. Heavy will give you even better crowd control, much better survivability, with decent heals. Whatever you choose, make sure you are going for Focus (until it reaches 300) and Constitution.
Gems¶
Throughout New World, you’ll find gear which has a socket (displayed with an empty hexagon). This means that a Gem can be equipped there. To craft a Gem to place in your gear, you’ll need to find one from mining deposits. Once you have one, take it to the stone cutter, and cut it.
For this build, we recommend the following Gems.
Gem | Effect Name | Effect | Slot |
---|---|---|---|
Diamond | Rally | +6/9/12/15% damage and outgoing healing while at full health. | Weapon |
Amber | Arboreal | 20/30/40/50% of damage is converted to Nature. Damage scales off of weapon stat or FOC, whichever is higher. | Weapon |
Malachite | Cruel | +6/8/10/12% damage against Crowd Controlled targets. | Weapon |
Carnelian | Calming | You generate 4/6/8/10% less threat. | Armor |
Put a Diamond Gem on your Life Staff, Carnelian gems on your Armor, and an Amber gem on your secondary weapon.
