Crafting Pink Silk - Pink Silk Thread Locations

There are a lot of items to be found in Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time, which can then be used to craft items and equipment. To do that, you’ll need materials and as you start crafting more endgame stuff, you’ll require rarer materials, like the "Pink Silk" iconPink Silk. Unfortunately, it’s not something that you can easily purchase from normal shops, so you’ll have to hunt it down and farm for the "Pink Silk Thread" iconPink Silk Thread yourself.

Pink Silk Thread is something you will want to farm from enemies.

Page Breakdown

Where to Find Pink Silk Thread

As you level up the Tailor Life, you will come across some recipes that call for Pink "Silk" iconSilk. This material requires you to find Pink "Silk Thread" iconSilk Thread to craft it, but it’s not something you can easily buy. That means you’ll have to hunt it down yourself, but the methods in which to gather it aren’t particularly quick, either. Note that the recipe for making Pink Silk requires you to be Master rank in the Tailor Life, but none of the mandatory challenges to reach Master will need Pink Silk.

Gathering in Treasure Groves

Treasure Groves are one source of Pink Silk Thread, but it’s far from the best, of course. The obvious reason is that the groves are completely random, so you never know when you’ll encounter the pick-ups with the thread. Also, there’s another level of randomness added, since even if you get the pick-up, you’re not guaranteed the Pink Silk Thread. Note that it’s also possible to get this from wooden crates in The Depths, but that’s also completely random.

Sand Spiders and Greater Sand Spiders

By far, one of the best ways to gather Pink Silk Thread is via "Sand Spider" iconSand Spiders and "Greater Sand Spider" iconGreater Sand Spiders. You will likely first run into this enemy in the Dryridge Desert areas of Ginormosia, but you won’t probably get the thread there right away. Despite that, they do drop Pink Silk Thread, but you will have to increase the Area Ranks for those two regions first. They appear to drop the thread at about Area Ranks 3-4, and they can sometimes be a bit stingy with them, so don’t be disheartened if you come up empty for a bit.

At Rank 3, you can start seeing some Greater Sand Spiders in the regions, so it’s worth going after them, too. To make things better, once you reach The Depths in the main story, specifically B3, you will find Sand Spiders there. In fact, from taking the elevator down to B3 and entering the area with the enemies, the Sand Spiders will be in the very first room. Since both areas are separate from one another, you can use the Teleportation Gate option in the menu to go back and forth to farm Pink Silk Threads.

(1 of 4) There are a lot of Sand Spiders in the desert areas of Ginormosia.

Gloom Spiders Locations

While the Sand Spiders may be a good idea, it seems that there is a more elusive enemy that can drop the threads much more frequently. Unfortunately, the "Gloom Spider" iconGloom Spiders are a little more rarer than Sand Spiders, as the in-game "Encyclopedia" iconEncyclopedia only mentions Treasure Groves as their home. Due to the random nature of these dungeons, you might be thinking of sticking to the above. However, there is a set location in Ginormosia where the Gloom Spiders appear, which is South Greatgut Plains.

Of course, this spot won’t come easy, as you’ll have to do a little bit of grinding to get the Area Rank up to rank 5. That is when you’ll find around three sets of them on the eastern side, a little northeast of Fan’ni Shrine. You will also need to have the time of day set to night, as those enemy packs are "Jackal" iconJackals during the daytime hours. Don’t forget that you can change the time of day at will by resting at a campfire or at any inn/your house in base camp.

Merchant in Ginormosia

As with most items, especially those on the rarer side, the wandering merchant in Ginormosia can have it in stock. The only problem is that The Don’s wares are random, so you never know what he will have in his shop when you hunt him down. Plus, given the nature that the thread drops from enemies that are easily found, you shouldn’t bother going with this method.

Crafting Pink Silk

Similar to the Marine Thread, the Pink Silk Thread can sometimes be a little elusive while you’re hunting Sand Spiders, but don’t give up and keep striking them down. Pink Silk doesn’t seem to be extremely common in crafts, so you’re not going to need a whole bunch of them. However, it’s always good to have them on hand, in case you do require it. As already mentioned, you cannot craft Pink Silk until you reach Master in Tailoring, but nothing before that will need it to advance to that rank.
