If you plan on doing everything that Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time has to offer, then you’re going to need a lot of materials. Crafting can be a huge part of the game, especially if you want some of the best equipment. Some of the recipes call for rarer materials, which you won’t be able to purchase at any of the in-game shops. One of these is the Magic Ore, used to craft
Magic Ingots, and this page will discuss how to find and farm this elusive metal.
Magic Ore is an endgame ore that can be a little difficult to find.

Where to Find Magic Ore¶
If you truly want to make some of the better gear in the game, you’re going to need Magic Ingots, but you’re look at the endgame equipment, like the Inferno set and some very strong weapons. Some of these will require a few Magic Ingots each, so you’re going to want to farm a good bit of Magic Ore. You might find some here and there by simply opening a treasure chest, or if you explore a lot of Treasure Groves, but there are easier ways to actually come by this rare ore.
Sker’ri Shrine¶
By far the best method of obtaining Magic Ore will come from one of the shrines in Ginormosia. Specifically, you’re looking for the Sker’ri Shrine in the Viridia Plateau. This is the region just north of East Dryridge Desert, so it’s not far from the starting area of Ginormosia. The tower for this region is towards the eastern side, which you should get to remove the fog from the area’s map. Once you have the tower, head west from it, until you see two large forests that you cannot go through on the map, towards the southern end.

Sker’ri Shrine will be right in the center of those two forests. The goal of this shrine, if you’ve never been to it before, is to destroy all of the ore nodes within the time limit. There are three rounds, but for the purpose of this little guide, we’re only concerned with the second one. One of the ores you have to destroy here is a Great Magic Ore Deposit. It’s only level 32, so you won’t need a ridiculously high Mining stat to break it (Buddies can help, if needed). Go after it first, destroy the node, then pause the game and reset to respawn it.
Sealed Areas¶
After finishing the main story, you’ll unlock some more content, including the ability to destroy those barriers you’ve been finding in some dungeons. This requires farming Shadow-type enemies (Fort Gardhart in Ginormosia is a good starting spot) for Dark Fire, which isn’t all too common, but drops eventually. In particular, two sealed areas will have
Luminous Magic Ore Deposits behind them, which are in Cave of Trials B1 and Warren Willow Hollow B1. You’ll need a good number of Dark Fire to break the barriers, too, so it’s not exactly clear if the farm for the fires is worth it, when you have the above method.
Treasure Groves¶
You can also find Magic Ore Deposits in Treasure Groves, but these seem extremely rare. It’s not clear if later Years will have them more often or not, or if they are just available from the beginning. Note that if your Treasure Grove is of the Mining type, then there is a greater chance of running into them, since there will be more mining rooms.

Base Camp Decorations¶
As you complete the Guild Quests at your Base Camp, you will expand Marco’s inventory inside the Guild Hall. Some of the items he can sell you include gathering items you can place as decorations on your island. All of these items are level 1, so they will be extremely easy to break and get Excellents on, but they are one-use only. After breaking them, they will disappear. Achieving level 9 via the Guild Quests is when the Magic Ore Deposits will become available, and they are 8,000
Dosh a piece, so they’re not exactly cheap.

Forging Magic Ingots¶
To get the most out of the farm for Magic Ores, you’re going to need a good Mining level and stat. Unless you want to spend a lot of money or a lot of time farming, the best method for Magic Ores is definitely the Sker’ri Shrine. Of course, it isn’t just the mining that will need to be high, as you’ll require a high Blacksmith level/stat in order to use the Magic Ores/Magic Ingots. The equipment you make with them is pretty high-tier, so it’s going to need some well-developed Blacksmithing Buddies and Life.
