Sailfin Blossom Fiber Locations - Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

By
Jarrod Garripoli

The Sailfin Blossom Fiber can be one of the more elusive materials in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. If you don’t know where to look, you might not ever find this material, simply because the game doesn’t really provide much in the way of hints, either. This page will talk about where to find the Sailfin Blossom Fiber, as well as where to find the Sailfin Goliaths.

The Sailfin Blossom Fiber only spawns in specific areas in the Clouded Forest.

Where to Find Sailfin Blossom Fibers in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

If you ever found a Sailfin Blossom Fiber and looked at its Hunter’s Guide entry, you’ll see that the only location they can be found is around “tranquil clearings” in the Clouded Forest. The problem with this is that the Clouded Forest is a large region and there’s no specific area labeled as “clearings,” so you’re essentially looking for a needle in a haystack. Thankfully, there are numerous tranquil clearings and they all have something in common; the Sailfin Goliath.

These colossal creatures are attuned to peace and harmony, with a few different functions. First and foremost, you cannot hurt them in any manner, so don’t waste ammo on them. Second, they will always be found in clearings and in those clearings will be Sailfin Blossoms, all of varying rarities. You can also interact with the Sailfin Goliath, where you will pet them and be granted a timed buff for your character. This buff, called Harmonized, will make it more difficult for wildlife to detect you, and the buff will last for 30 minutes.

Where to Find Sailfin Goliaths in Avatar

Now that you know how to look for Sailfin Goliaths, you may be wondering where to find them. The good news is that there are certain locations where you will always find them, and the better news is that there’s multiple spots. For example, you can find one northeast of the Hunter’s Meet Na’vi Camp in the Stone Cloud Valley area of the Clouded Forest.

Area Sailfin Goliath Location
Crimson Great Wood Just south of Giant’s Refuge camp
Stone Cloud Valley Northeast of Hunter’s Nest camp
The Cut West of Hydra-Oil Extractor Bravo; Across the river (see note below)
Cradling Pines Just southeast of Sheltering Pines camp; Western side of Carver’s River
Cascading Stones Just southeast of Crimson Refuge camp

The majority of the Goliaths will always be there, except for the one in The Cut. That one is related to a side quest, called The Gentle Giant. Upon finishing that side quest, the Goliath will leave, but Sailfin Blossoms will still remain there. Otherwise, all other spots will have the Goliath and the Blossoms.

What is Sailfin Blossom Fiber Used for in Avatar?

As with all other kinds of Fiber in the game, the Sailfin Blossom Fiber is primarily used in the crafting of Waist armor. There’s not really much else to use it for, other than crafting. It is one of the better Fibers to use for crafting and much easier to come by, since the Fog Bloom Fiber requires the weather to be foggy. Of course, it’s not the top tier, as the Pale Vine Fiber will contribute more to armor than the Sailfin Blossom.
