You’ll come across lots of buildings/chests throughout your adventure in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, but some will be locked and inaccessible until you successfully restore the power to the building. However, you won’t be able to do this until you obtain the SID. Continue reading to learn how to unlock it and tips on how to use it.

How To Unlock the SID in Avatar¶

Before you can start hacking security systems in Avatar you’ll need to progress through the game until you’ve completed the third main mission Welcome to the Resistance, at which point you’ll acquire the SID (Systems Interrogation Device). You’ll then want to equip it by holding in LB + Y on Xbox or L1 + Triangle for those on PlayStation. Holding the SID will allow you to hack security systems which are connected to Field Labs, and then you’ll gain access to containers inside that’ll provide you with useful loot, such as Armor, Weapons, Crafting Materials and more.

How to Equip SID in Avatar¶

Once you’ve finally got the SID in your possession, you’ll be able to see wiring running along underground. Green indicates it’s live whereas orange means it’s got no power going to it, so you’ll want to follow it along until you locate the faulty node. The easiest way to do this is by looking for the split in between the green and orange wiring. After you’ve successfully tracked down the node, you’ll want to place your reticle over the spanner icon and you’ll be shown two circles. Your objective here is to make the two circles overlap, so you’ll want to press RT on Xbox or R2 on PlayStation.

However, you’ll need to make sure you gently press the trigger otherwise you’ll massively overshoot it. Sometimes you’ll need to fix multiple faulty nodes throughout the building in order to restore power. Eventually, you’ll come across a circuit board which will require you to complete a short, timed puzzle. To complete the puzzle you’ll need to use the left analog stick and bring the square into the circle which is randomly located on the board. As you work your way up the security levels, the puzzles will become a little bit trickier, as you’ll need to start obtaining keys within the circuit board first in order to unlock the required pathways.
