6th Stratum

Once you’ve found the Sky Terminal, you can return to Aquila Stone Plaza in the blink of an eye. Isn’t sci-fi technology convenient?

When you arrive, head south slightly and go east into the small alcove to find some Dx Incense . This item is capable of fully healing your HP/MP and raising your Dexterity/Technique by 3; frankly, it’s better to save it for emergencies, y’know?

Continue south and you’ll find a room. Within is an object unfamiliar to these residents of Mikado, but one we know all too well - a gun, as Burroughs confirms. Walter opts to carry it along. You’ll then receive this Bruce Gun with some FMJ Rounds . Note that guns are separate from your sword weapon, so you know.

Once you regain control (without that rest?), go east and into the northern alcove to find a Patra Stone , then into the eastern alcove for a Light Grimoire , which will supply you with a nice chunk of EXP., so use it. Further south are two more alcoves, one with a Lu Incense and another with an Ag Incense .

Further south, you’ll find yourself entering a room with a strange altar in the center and a tesselation of triangles on the ceiling. Burroughs identifies it as the “Sky Terminal”, which is basically a teleporter. (Somehow, people figured out how to defy quantum physics, apparently.)

Abbot Hugo suddenly notes that one such terminal was also in Aquila Plaza, but inactive without another active terminal. In other words, you can instantly return to there! Of course, you have give it a name. God, I hate these types of situations. Give it whatever name you desire; for the sake of simplicity, I’ll call it the “Mikado Terminal”.

The link will be completed, allowing you to go to Mikado again. Hugo then notes that more such terminals probably exist still in the Unclean Ones’ country, thereby giving you the quest (oh, crap) of finding them all. Hey, since you’re able to, why not go to Mikado and heal and restock?

Also note that some new Challenge Quests have been made back in K’s Tavern - see the Mikado Quest Cleanup section for more on them.

Anyways, go further south from the terminal to reach the next area.

7th Stratum

There’s not a lot to say, other than progress along the linear path. Be sure to grab the 1-Star Jewelry and the Revival Bead on the way. Partway along, Stephen will appear, unlocking the DDS (Digital Demon Service) function of the game, which requires StreetPass.

Basically, it allows you to strengthen sent demons and receive others’ demons for aid in battle.

Go through the door at the end and you’ll find yourself looking out a dark, yet technologically-advanced world from the tower that is Naraku. Whoa.

1st Observation Platform

As you arrive, a strong demon will be detected nearby. Go forward and onto the outer ring. There, head to the southeast corner to find a Zanma Stone , then to the west side for a Chakra Drop . Save and heal, not necessarily in that order, then proceed to the southwest corner and go along the path.

There, you’ll find rather vivid statues of humans. Hey, wait. Statues. Of humans. With open eyes. And snake-like sounds. And Medusa. Hi Medusa.

Boss: Medusa

**Level** **Race** **Weakness** **Resistance** **Nullifies**
15 Femme Force Gun Electric (Drain), Light, Dark

To note, twice Medusa will ask you some questions. The first, regarding the quality of her art: say “Indeed, they’re beautiful” to lower her attack power (even if you really disagree). The second is more of a demand.

As should be expected, MEDUSA asks you to look into her eyes to see the truth in her surrender. Anyone with a smidgen of Greek mythological knowledge should know that to do so is going to turn you into stone. However, do “Give her a side glance” to really make a fool of her and lower her defense.

After the battle, simply continue on through the doorway ahead.

(Continued in Ueno…)
