The AI who has been helping you thus far refuses to continue until you can get him a body, with Kinzie suggesting a Control and Interface Device (aka CID). Luckily, the Zin have a bunch of them in transport, so head towards the objective that appears. Once you’re there, start clearing out the Zin and Kinzie will mention a new gun you can grab, so do that.
This is the Bounce Rifle, which as its name suggests, shoots ammunition that bounces around from enemy to enemy. It doesn’t use ammunition, but rather has a charge meter, which requires it to recharge if the meter is empty. Anyways, after acquiring the new toy and killing the rest of the Zin, go up to and try activating one of the CIDs.
Of course, two attempts at getting the CID will fail, with your third one being successful. With the new CID in your possession, Kinzie now has to program the AI into it, so go to the rooftop nearby and you’ll have to protect CID from the incoming Zin. All of the Zin will come on flying vehicles, with the exception of the last enemy, which is one of the alien ships, so break out for heavy firepower for it.
Once Kinzie has finished reprogramming the CID to allow the AI to enter it, she says it will take a total of 55 minutes to upload the AI. This is a bit too long, but Kinzie mentions that a major power source will allow for faster uploading, although it will be heavily guarded. When you get to the connection area, clear it of Zin and then go to start the download, which has been reduced to 16 minutes now.
While it is downloading, Zin will come to try and put a stop to it, so kill any that do (just Zin in ground vehicles) until Kinzie talks about access points to shorten the timer some more. Hit the first access point, then the second and the timer will be reduced to three minutes, but it appears that CID is now overheating. Rush back to his location and use your Freeze Blast to cool it off before the timer reaches zero.
With only three minutes left, the Zin forces have escalated and now include a few ships, more Zin and even some Murderbots. These enemies are a lot tougher than normal Zin, as they take more bullets to kill and their torsos can still stay alive after destroying its legs, where they will come after you and self-destruct. They have two kinds of weapons, one that tosses proximity homing mines and a laser gun.
Once the timer is finished, CID will be yours, but the mission isn’t quite over yet, as a Warden appears. This Warden has the ability to pick up things, which are connected by a red beam of sorts, and toss them at you; this is in addition to its melee attack and blast. Deplete its health, do the button mashing mini-game and you’ll gain a new power, Telekinesis. After finishing the training for your new power, the mission will be over.
