Making snowmen isn’t always easy, but keep trying!

From 11th December to 24th February, two snowballs will appear randomly in town. If you go up to a snowball, you can kick it about by walking into it.

Push the snowball over snow and it will grow in size, until your character can push the snowball with their hands. At this point, you can continue pushing the snowball until it gets bigger and bigger.

If you want to make the snowball smaller, push it over a snow-less area like the town plaza.

When you’re done with the first snowball, find the second snowball and do the same thing, while rolling it towards the first snowball.

The next part is the most crucial step of the day–you want the two snowballs to be similar in size, but one of them should be slightly larger or smaller than the other.

To compare the sizes more easily, press Up on the D-pad to pan the camera up. If the sizes don’t look good, roll them more until you’re happy.

Alright, time to get our rulers out… Unless our eyes deceive us, these two look the same.

Once you’re content, push the smaller snowball towards the larger snowball and watch the magic happen before your eyes: the two snowballs will come together to make a snowman!

You can create four different type of snowmen, depending on the size of the snowman’s base; from small to massive, they are: Snowtyke, Snowmam, Snowboy and Snowman. Each has their own personality and set of gifts for you.

If you managed to get the balance of snowballs right, the snowman will praise your skills and, depending on the type of snowman, give you a gift or mini-game to play.

Otherwise, you may end up with a snowman that does nothing but complain about their imperfect body (talk about ungrateful…). Either way, you can create a snowman each day, so don’t worry if you messed up; practice is perfect!

Another thing: with each passing day, snowmen will begin to fall apart, no matter the weather. After the fourth day from their birth, the snowman will disappear altogether.

This is important as two of the snowmen may require some time before you can get their gifts, while another requires the presence of other snowmen for their gifts. Besides, it may be saddening to see your snow friends melt away…

Snowman

Here’s our first snowman and well-formed too!

To create the king of all snowmen, use a massive snowball as the base–just keep rolling and rolling until you get scared by the snowball’s size. Succeed and you can… play a game of bingo!?

Snowman will give you a bingo card if you don’t have one. Each day, you can obtain a new bingo number from Snowman–get a line of five to win a prize.

To speed up the process, you can build multiple Snowmans or even visit Snowmans in other player’s towns.

  • Bobsled
  • Curling stone
  • Lift chair
  • Ski rack
  • Slalom gate
  • Snow machine
  • Snowboard
  • Snowmobile
  • Ski-slope wall
  • Ski-slope floor

Snowboy

Oh, we’re on a roll (pardon the pun)!

This guy is hardly a boy when he’s created with a large snowball–one slightly taller than your shoulder height. Create him with the perfect body proportion and he’ll send a Snowman item in the mail the next day.

If his proportions are even slightly off, he’ll be nothing more than an eyesore.

  • Snowman Head
  • Snowman
  • Snowman Bed
  • Snowman Chair
  • Snowman Clock
  • Snowman Dresser
  • Snowman Fridge
  • Snowman Lamp
  • Snowman Sofa
  • Snowman Table
  • Snowman TV
  • Snowman Vanity
  • Snowman Wardrobe
  • Snowman Wall
  • Snowman Carpet

Snowmam

Don’t go between a snowmam and her snowflakes.

You can create this female snowman by using a medium snowball as the base–one that’s slightly shorter than your shoulder height.

She will ask you to collect a certain number of snowflakes–three if she was perfectly made, five otherwise.

Snowflakes can be found floating about in town; use your bug-catching net to grab them. Hand over the requested number of snowflakes to obtain random Ice items; you can repeat this as many times as you want.

  • Ice Bed
  • Ice Chair
  • Ice Clock
  • Ice Closet
  • Ice Dresser
  • Ice Lamp
  • Ice Shelf
  • Ice Side Table
  • Ice Sofa
  • Ice Table
  • Ice Vanity
  • Ice Wall
  • Ice Floor

Snowtyke

Last but not least, use the smallest snowball (one you can just about push with your hands) to create this lil’ tyke.

However, before you do so, be sure you have a Snowman, Snowboy and Snowmam in town or you won’t get anything from this chap.

If you have the entire Snowman family and Snowtyke is perfectly proportioned, Snowtyke will send you a gift in the mail depending on the number of well-crafted snowmen.

  • Snowman Matryoshka (all four are well-balanced)
  • Snow bunny (three are well-balanced)
  • Small igloo (two are well-balanced)
  • Sleigh (only Snowtyke is well-balanced)
