One Piece Odyssey Adio Boss Fight Tactics And Strategies

By
Paul McNally

As you come to the conclusion of One Piece Odyssey’s main story, you have already known for a couple of chapters that you are going to be coming up against your one-time friend and savior - "Adio" iconAdio.

While the long-haired explorer seemed like a nice guy at the beginning, there has always been something off about him and the way he has used Lim in order to get to the point where he can carry out his evil plan and take over the world.

It looks like we need to get him out of our way then to complete the game so let’s look at how to do it quickly and efficiently.

He was a nice guy at the beginning but now you need to stop !Adio and his evil plan

How To Beat Adio In One Piece Odyssey

Right at the start here we need to point out that the Adio fight is not the last battle in the game. After dispatching him you are going to have to slug it out with the Divine Breath itself in a much tougher fight.

Rather than that being a spoiler for spoiler’s sake we thought it was important to mention as there is no opportunity to save between fights. Beat Adio and lose to the Divine Breath and you will have to fight both again - and it is not always a short fight.

The first time we fought Adio using the just charge in with very little strategy method, he kicked our ass good and proper, but with the right Battle Crew and formation, he is actually stupidly easy to get rid of.

Worth noting is our crew was around the mid-50s in Level here. After losing a couple of times we thought it prudent to prepare better, go away, and get "Sanji" iconSanji to cook up some more health buffs to use in battle. We also got a few of our crew to over 55 in level as there seems to be quite a jump in extra HP (around the 300-400 mark) rather than the usual 20 or so you get for moving up a level.

That made us better prepared for the battle as a whole but was probably not needed for the Adio part in isolation, which we are talking about right here.

(1 of 3) King Cobra may cost 210 TP points but it is a devastating attack

After a couple of attempts it because clear that "Luffy" iconLuffy’s Gum Gum King Cobra - a Gear 4 move that sees Luffy unleash a devastating attack that follows the target - was the perfect recipe for Adio’s impending doom.

In terms of TP cost the Gum Gum King Cobra is Luffy’s second most expensive attack, weighing in at 210 TP so the key here is make sure you go into the battle with full TP or get one of the other crew members to buff him to max with "Super Burst Brew" iconSuper Burst Brew which will restore both HP and TP to max. By this point that should give Luffy in excess of 800 TP which might just about do the job.

There will be a couple of Tornados blocking off attacks of your other crew, so make sure you have chosen a Battle Formation that puts Luffy as the main fighter. This will mean he won’t get blocked off fighting minions.

The Tornados don’t do much damage but do totally distract anybody else getting hits on Adio, unless you use attacks such as Robin’s Stomp which damage every enemy, but only by a small amount. Every hit matters though, so don’t discount this.

So attack the Tornados with the other team members but don’t worry about them. This is all about getting Luffy (and "Chopper" iconChopper) to Turn four or five alive.

A Healthy Chopper Is A Happy Chopper

Use Chopper to constantly buff the team using his Heal All special to make sure everybody has good health. The Divine Breath has the occasional devastating attack that scorches the earth and causes huge damage. If your team is running low you could easily lose three or even more to it, swiftly changing the course of the battle. It is important not to lose Chopper to a knock out so keep him healthy.

(1 of 2) Use Chopper to administer first aid and dole out team buffs from a distance

Use Chopper to administer first aid and dole out team buffs from a distance (left), Super Burst Brew is what you need here. Try and stock up before the fight (right)

While all this is happening your only focus is getting Luffy to use the Gum-Gum King Cobra on Adio.

(1 of 2) Using Brook’s New World will buff the whole team’s attacks for the next five turns

Using Brook’s New World will buff the whole team’s attacks for the next five turns (left), With a few power chords you will be causing more damage to Adio every time (right)

If you want to buff the damage further you can use "Brook" iconBrook’s New World special to increase the whole team’s attack for five turns. You should do this right at the start if you have him in formation.

If you follow this routine you should be able to take Adio down in just three or four turns, which is pretty hardcore.

Of course, that is only half the battle.
