Detailed Location

You can start this quest by talking to Heddam in the Iron Wolves encampment which is situated in the northeast of the Ragged Coast. After you’ve accepted the quest, head north into Amber Sands and defeat skeletons to draw out the champion.

Once the bar has filled up, the “Champion of the Tar Pits” will spawn in the area north of the Sunken Library dungeon. Defeat them, and head back to Heddam for your reward.

In-Game Description

Despite a reward, no one has challenged the Champion of the Tar Pits. Heddam of the Iron Wolves is offering me the payment if I can bring down the foe. I need to prove myself by killing the Champion’s undead underlings to bring it out of hiding.
The Champion of the Tar Pits has answered my challenge. It will soon learn to regret this mistake
The Champion is no more. I should return to Heddam in the Iron Wolf encampment for reward.
