No Rest for the Wicked

All Food Recipes

By
Scott Peers

There are several different food recipes that you can use to heal yourself and restore stamina or focus in No Rest for the Wicked. Some of these can be acquired early on in the game as you explore and loot enemies or chests, but others need to be purchased from NPCs. There’s one particular NPC, named Gordon, who will sell you the vast majority of food recipes that you can find, but he won’t appear in Sacrament until you’ve completed a specific quest. On this page, we’ll show you how to gain access to all the food recipes in the game, and detail what each of them do in terms of stat recovery.

Unlock Gordon’s Pantry

As mentioned above, if you want to gain access to all the food recipes available in No Rest for the Wicked, you first need to find and speak with an NPC named Gordon. However, you can only do this after completing a specific quest to unlock Gordon’s Pantry, The Innkeeper’s Husband, so be sure to check the link for a full walkthrough of it. To explain the quest in brief, you first need to speak with Gordon’s wife, Caroline, who can be found near the entrance to Sacrament, as shown in the screenshot below. She’ll tell you that Gordan has gone missing, and you’ll need to find him in the far southwest of the map, near Mariner’s Keep.

Once you’ve rescued Gordon and returned to Sacrament, you’ll be able to find and speak with him just to the northwest of his wife Caroline. He’ll thank you for what you did, and in return you’ll gain access to his shop, which contains a selection of raw ingredients for food recipes, but also the Crab Chowder, Fish Skewer, and Mushroom and Meat Curry recipes.

Upgrading Gordon’s Pantry

The initial selection of recipes available from Gordon’s Pantry is rather limited, but you can improve this by speaking with Danos in the main courtyard of Sacrament to upgrade the pantry. As you continue to upgrade it to higher levels, you’ll gain access to more recipes. If you need help with upgrading Gordon’s Pantry, among other structures in Sacrament, you can check our Rebuilding Sacrament Guide for more information.

List of Food Recipes

Now that you know how to access more food recipes by either purchasing them from Gordon’s Pantry or waiting to find them as random loot in chests or on fallen enemies in the wilderness, we’ll show you a list for all available food recipes in the early access of No Rest for the Wicked. We’ve also provided the ingredients you’ll need to craft each item, and what they provide in terms of healing effects.

As can be seen from the table above, there are plenty of options when it comes to crafting foods that serve as reliable healing items, but you won’t always have access to the ingredients required to craft each one. If you need help with finding specific ingredients, you can check our Healing Item Resource Locations page. The Angler’s Delight Chowder is arguably the best recipe so far since it restores the most amount of health while also replenishing 50 Focus, which can be a lifesaver in situations where you need to quickly use special skills. The Fish Salad is a close second, and the Mushroom and Meat Curry shouldn’t be underestimated for the extra 10 stamina, which could make all the difference when it comes to making that extra dodge/roll, or the final strike to finish an enemy off.

Regardless of which food recipes you craft, it’s a good idea to make them whenever you find the ingredients as soon as you can access a campfire. You can stack as many as you need of each in your inventory, and you can easily switch between them in your quickslots, allowing you to save the best food items for the toughest fights, while you use those which require the most common ingredients for regular mobs.
