Scene 05 in Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong will see the three main protagonists return the Prince’s Quarter to deliver their reports on their tasks. This all takes place in the Prince’s Quarter, and you’ll have some important choices to make.
Galeb will have to choose between helping Kaius or speaking to Berel in Scene 05.
Help Kaius or Speak with Berel in his apartment¶
As soon as you start this Scene, you’ll find yourself in control of Galeb and speaking with Xu Feng. During the conversation, Xu Feng will ask her your conversation with Berel went, press her on the situation and soon you’ll be able to answer in a number of ways about how she shouldn’t interact with Berel and that you’re going to speak with him. This will add the “Speak with Berel in his apartment Main Objective.
Once you’re done in the bar, leave the area and as soon as you start walking forward, Galeb will receive a message from Kaius, requesting his aid downstairs. Two tasks, and only so much time, Galeb needs to choose here which is the most deserving of his time. As a baseline, anything related to Berel and Xu has ending outcomes for both characters, while Kaius’s request is more interesting, dealing with the traitor, but there are other methods to come to the same conclusion with the other characters.
Help Kaius¶
You’ll find Kaius down in the Security Office on B1, you’ll need to take the elevator to reach it. Once there, head inside and Kaius will ask you to come into his office so you can speak more privately. Inside, he’ll tell you that he’s found something, and that he suspects someone, press him and he’ll reveal Jara Drory is the one he suspects and asks if you’d check her room for any evidence while planting a bug on her computer.
Agree to assist him and make your way back to Jara Drory’s room in the Council’s Quarters. Once inside, head over to the computer to plant the bug and then take a look on the bed, you’ll find a box. Upon closer inspection, you’ll learn that you can wind it left or right before pressing a button to open it. If you look in the bin near the computer, and on the desk, you’ll find two halves to a diagram that will reveal the answer (left - right - right). Open the box and inside you’ll find Jara Drory’s notebook. This is all you can achieve on the path for helping Kaius.
Speak with Berel in his apartment¶
Arguably, this is the best use of Galeb’s time in Scene 05 as both Berel and Xu Feng have ending outcomes, and the choices here go a long way to impacting that. Once you head to his apartment in the Council’s Quarters, speak with him and after a few choice words, you’ll get the choice to have a confrontation with him. If you don’t want Xu Feng to be swayed and influenced by Berel, you must win this confrontation.

- “I know he saw her here!”
- “Let me worry about her”
- “Defend” (Requires Psychology 4)
- “He’s being disloyal”
- “Because I might lose my temper” (Requires Intimidation 2)
If you successfully win the confrontation, you’ll force him to leave Xu Feng alone, forever changing his chance to twist her to his schemes and embrace her.
