Tower Of Fantasy Ruin A-02: Chest Locations and Walkthrough

By
Craig Robinson

Tower of Fantasy Ruin A-02 is one of the first ruins you do as part of the game’s early game tutorial. Moreso, this ruin creeps up again fairly quickly, with players getting to do normal and hard more fairly early on. No matter your difficulty, here is a guide to the Tower of Fantasy Ruin A-02, featuring a walkthrough and chest location on all difficulties.

You can locate this ruin on our interactive map here.

Tower of Fantasy Ruin A-02 Walkthrough

We walkthrough the Tower of Fantasy Ruin A-02, solving the puzzles, collecting chests and beating baddies up.

You will spawn in one of these high-tech fantasy rooms with nothing in it. If you’re on easy mode, you will grab the strange relic from the start. It is not there on harder difficulties. You must equip the relic and use it throughout the A-02 Ruin to beat its mini puzzles.

Once you have the Strange cube equipped, jump down into the room, and fight the Watchers. These enemies tend to fire volt zaps that stun you and then blow up when they die. So dodge their zaps and other moves, along with their slightly delayed explosion when they die. If you’re on normal or above, a chest is in the corner of the room to loot. Now that’s all done, use the Strange Cube relic on the cube block in the middle to reveal the lazer beam. The lazer will open the next door.

Inside the new corridor are three enemies. Two of them are Watchers, while another is a Dog Trainer. The Watchers are the same as the ones you have already beat. Meanwhile, the Dog Trainer uses a mixture of skills. One is a smoke rounds, another is a regular shot, and another is a shield. Once the enemies are beaten, there is a chest at the top of the stairs on Easy and above.

The next room contains another cube puzzle and more enemies. There are Ravager Assault Elites, along with some Watchers. The Ravager Elites are tankier enemies, which tend to do body slams and other melee moves. These mobs are very easy to CC, so Frost and Volt weapons are good at ensuring they never hit you. Once the enemies die, you need to use your Strange Cube on the stationary cube and flip the switch to open the next door. Go through the corridor to proceed. On Hard mode, there is another chest in the corridoor that you cannot miss.

Defeat the enemies, knock the square off and then pull the lever to advance further.

The next area that is revealed contains Ravagers with jetpacks and floating blocks. Take care of the enemy Watchers, floating enemy and the Dog Trainer. If any of your moves do a knockback, then there’s potential you can knock enemies off the map like it’s a fighting game and kill them that way. Moreso, there are two chests available here. One is to the right before the stairs, available on easy mode, while another is to the right at the top of the stairs, available on normal and above.

Now you need to cross the gap. Use the higher altitude blocks to cross the gap. Jump on one, then. You can most likely use three dashes to glide to the next platform with the boss.

Tower of Fantasy Ruin A-02 Aberrant Franken Boss Fight

Glide across the floating area and straight into the boss room.

The Aberrant Franken does the same on all the difficulties, with the hard mode having an exclusive mechanic.

As for that, the main skills involve a shield that it puts over itself like other bosses.

Jump - The boss jumps into the air and then slams down to deal damage.

Ground Slam - The boss raises its fists into the air, and then slams them down to the ground, sending out some blue objects in the direction it is facing.

Ground Claws - Aberrant Franked raises its hands into the air, with his right claw going red. It then repeatedly claws the ground in front of itself. Dodge the skill to avoid getting hit multiple times and then DPS it while its busy hitting the floor.

180-degree swipe - Franken swipes its hands in a 180 degree forward.

All in all, the moves are fairly similar to each other. Dodge if you see it jump high or raise its hands high. Dodging allows you to get more damage on the boss too, thanks to the slowing zone. Rinse and repeat until Aberrant Franken is dead. After that, look up. The final chest (on hard mode) is positioned on the rafters. To get it, head to the corner of the room, use an Omni Hand Cannon relic to create a platform, climb to the rafters and then jump across to get it.

Congratulation, you have now completed the Tower of Fantasy Ruins A-02.
