The prologue takes place in the village of Mosgul in the realm of Calaglia.

Life of a Slave¶

The game opens with a backdrop on the setting for this title, the planet of Dahna, whose people have been oppressed by the planet of Rahna for the past 300 years due to their technological superiority. The planet is divided between five realms, each of which ruled by a Lord from Rahna that enslaves the Dahnans and the tale begins in the fire realm of Calaglia, in the village of Mosgul.

Once the opening scenes have concluded, you’ll find yourself in control of Iron Mask, in need of medical attention after shielding Kohl from an attack from a ruthless Dahnan. The game will run you over some basic controls as Iron Mask will need to seek out Doc. To begin with, you can open the Menu with the [TOUCHPAD/START] Buttons, there’s not much you can do here for now but you can access the Field Guide where you can find some useful information. The Activity Records will display your Story and Sub-Quest progress, peruse Enemy Info for all the details you’ll ever need on your adversaries, take a look at the Play Records for information on your records throughout the game and finally the Glossary that will update with important lore.

You can also access the System option here, not only can you save your game here, but you can also access any DLC you may have purchased or received as part of the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions in the game. A word of warning, if you have the Ultimate Edition, claiming all of the DLC has the ability to make your character vastly overpowered for the majority of the game, stripping any challenge from it (even on Hard). Thankfully, you can claim individual items from DLC, such as the costumes themselves.

With that explanation out of the way, head forward (the other directions are blocked for now) toward the star icon, this will always lead you towards the main objective for the Story. You’ll meet up with Doc here, who patches up Iron Mask’s wounds and reminds you a little more about just who Iron Mask is. Once he’s done talking, follow the path to the east as the game informs you of how to access the Map. Using the map is vital, not only is it fully visible as soon as you enter an area, but it’ll update with valuable pieces of information such as collectible locations, ingredients and any items you pick up, be sure to refer to it often throughout the adventure.

Once you reach the house (if you can call it that) at the far end of the residential block, interact with the bed to rest for the night. As morning comes, Iron Mask decides to set off for work, dealing with the freight train for today. Follow the path southwest as far as you can and you’ll trigger a scene once you reach the freight trains and brings a close to your short stay in Mosgul.
