The Rock Giant’s main use is in creating mountains and deserts. His second, and arguably equally important use, is that of creating Minerals that produce Tech and Wealth. The Rock Giant is a key player in both Desert and Swamp communities. The Rock Giant is also notable for his war squashing Earthquake ability.

  • Desert will not appear if the ground is not bone dry; any other Tile type will stop its expansion.
  • Raising a Mountain on an Ocean will remove the Ocean, while raising one on a village wll destroy the village.

Choosing Ambassadors

As you can see above, you woud need 3 Desert Ambassadors, 2 Forest Ambassadors and 2 Swamp Ambassadors, at least, to activate all of the Rock Giant’s abilities to their full potential. The main thing to bear in mind with the Rock Giant is that all of his locked abilities are those used to upgrade thing, primarily his own minerals.

As such it makes sense to grab a Desert or Swamp ambassador first, and then add the other from that duo to your collection. Doing this will unlock his Noble and Seismic aspects straight away, but also open up level 2 of both Precious and Advanced Minerals; multi-tasking!

With these two Ambassadors riding high your next ambassador choice must be informed by what route you’re taking through the game. Consider if you need more Wealth or Tech from minerals and choose appropriately. Obviously there is also the Exotic Aspect, but we would argue that that isn’t the Rock Giant’s primary concern.
