Petrify Debuffs

Description

Characters with the Petrify effect will slowly turn to Stone, instantly being knocked out when the petrification is complete.

Methods of Application

Enemies that can apply the Petrify effect with special attacks include, but are not limited to:

• Cockatrice
• Gigatrice
• Crown Lance

Opposing Effect

Characters with the Resist effect active cannot also have Petrify or Stone active.

Effects

• Slowly turn to stone, with the petrification getting faster when attacked.

Interactions

• Dispelled by Remedy
• Dispelled by Esuna
• Dispelled by Gold Needle
• Characters with a Safety Pin equipped are immune to Petrify.

Notes

With the threat of instant death via the Stone effect looming overhead, Petrify is one of the game’s most dangerous status effects. If combat cannot be ended quickly, or if a large number of enemies are present, the effect should be cured ASAP.
