Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Farming Trophies and Achievements

By
Nathan Garvin

Time to grind some combat augments! Again, since this isn’t for keeps any loot or quests will be ignored along the way, since you’re going to reload the hard save you made before using up any Praxis. Head to the north-western corner of Koller’s workshop, go down some stairs and activate a bricked-up archway to reveal a secret door. How cliche. Travel up the tunnel beyond and climb a ladder to the surface (looking up and removing the manhole cover while climbing) and ignore Miller’s communication when you surface.

Express Elevator to Hell, Going Down

Return to the courtyard of the Zelen Apartment complex and exit via the northern hallway. Once outside turn north-west and jump (or climb) onto some scaffolding, then jump west from there onto a ledge, a balcony and another ledge. Turn south-west and jump down to another ledge that wraps around the building it’s on. Follow it around the building, then jump west onto another ledge and drop down onto the red tile roof of a wall that bisects the street outside. Make your way south on this wall and when your progress is halted by a building, turn west and jump onto a wooden shed, then head south onto the roof of the adjoining building. Do this without altering the thugs nearby, then climb onto the northern of the two chimneys on this roof. This area is marked on your map as “Konicky & Hracky”.

Save your game on a different slot (you’ll want a save slot for your main game before you invest any Praxis, one for your trophy-hunting before you invest any Praxis, and one after investing into certain augmentations to avoid having to resend the points in case something goes wrong) and invest in the “Cybernetic Leg Prosthesis” augment (“Klipspringer Jump Mod”), the “Icarus Landing” augment and the “Typhoon Augment” (lethal or non-lethal works fine). Once done, look out to the west to spot two thugs walking around. Your goal for this trophy is to jump down to the ground below and land near one thug, holding down [CIRCLE] / [B] to activate the Icarus Drop attack. As soon as that attack resolves, press whatever button your Typhoon attack is hot-keyed to and with any luck you’ll catch the second thug in this and unlock the trophy/achievement “Express Elevator to Hell, Going Down”. If you fail, reload and keep trying until you’re able to get one thug with the Icarus Drop attack and the other with the Typhoon attack.

Jump off the roof of a building and dispatch a foe with “Icarus Landing” (left) then immediately use your “Typhoon” augmentation on another foe to earn a trophy/achievement (right).

Ground Mail Was a Better Option

Reload to a point before you invested your Praxis and return to the street north of the Zelen Apartment complex, where you can find a security robot flying about. Invest in the “Remote Hacking” augment (get both skills - “Environmental Domination” and “Security Domination”) then try to hack the robot. To do this just aim at it and press square to bring up the remote hacking mini-game, where your goal is to stop the reticle on the bar at the appropriate points. Do this flawlessly and you’ll get the trophy/achievement “Ground Mail Was a Better Option”.

Reload and head to the southern end of the district, more specifically the Capek Station. Head down into the metro and use the metro console to fast-travel to the Palisade station. If you did the Time Traveler diversion above, you know exactly where you’re going - Otar’s sewer casino. A good number of hostile enemies all in one small space, and it’s a place you’ve probably already been if you’re following this walkthrough and care enough to go hunt for the “Time Traveler” trophy. If you didn’t bother, however, or if you don’t remember, here’s how to get there again, starting from the Palisade metro:

Head up a flight of stairs to the south, then another flight to the east. Once you’re out of the metro make your way east to reach a road, then follow the road south-east. Go down a slope and turn north-east to find a tunnel bisected by a short wooden wall. Leap over the wall and head east to find a colorful manhole cover, which is decorated like a poker chip. Remove it, then climb down the ladder to reach the sewer, at which point head south-west to find a door, which is now open and can be entered freely. You didn’t come here to do questy stuff, though, you came here to get some combat augmentation-based trophies! Fortunately this place will accommodate you wonderfully. From the open door head north down a until until your progress is blocked by a locked gate. Hack the Keypad on the wall and save your game.

Further down the tunnel (to the south-west) you’ll find a security camera, and to the south-east of that is the casino proper. Standing near a bar in the corner of the casino near the security camera are four enemies, whom you’ll be using as fodder to score trophies. Below are listed the trophies you can get and how to earn them; just invest your Praxis, follow the instructions, then reload and do it again until you have all the trophies/achievements you care to get.

The Invincible Body, Fighting an Iron Devil

Lets start out with something simple - buy the “Titan Shield” augment and all its upgrades, then provoke the thugs in the casino. Run back north-east) up the tunnel and find cover along a wall where the tunnel bends. Once done, just wait for one of the thugs to throw a grenade at you, at which point activate your Titan Shield and stand on said explosive. When it detonates - and is absorbed by your shield - you’ll get the trophy/achievement “The Invincible Body, Fighting an Iron Devil”.

Hug an explosive with the “Titan” augmentation active to earn a trophy/achievement (left). Charging up your Nanoblade to strike tree enemies while the “Focus” augmentation is active will earn you another (right).

Slow & Sharp

Buy the “Nanoblade” and “Focus Enhancement” augments and all their upgrades, then head to the corner around which the security camera is located. Charge up your Nanoblade until the tip starts glowing, leave cover and aim at one of the thugs, then activate your Focus ability and fire the Nanoblade. Make sure you’re far enough away, and with any luck you’ll kill three Thugs and earn the trophy/achievement “Slow & Sharp”.

This is Great for Spring Cleaning

Invest some Praxis into the “P.E.P.S.” augment (get all the upgrades) then hold down the hotkey for this augmentation and head around the corner. Fire the charged version (Precision Diode) at a Thug to knock them unconscious, then just press (don’t hold down) the button for the augmentation to fire the normal version (Knockback). Hit with both of these attacks and you’ll get the “This is Great for Spring Cleaning” trophy/achievement.

Ramming Speed!!

This one can be a bit tricky to get, so be sure to make another save after maxing out the “Icarus Dash” tree. Provoke the Thugs and run back down the tunnel past the security camera, take cover in the first bend in the tunnel, crouch, charge your Icarus Dash ability. Wait for a Thug to round the corner and come after you, and make sure he is in the tunnel, near the center (elevation can cause the dash to fail to connect). Once those conditions are met round the corner and hit him with your Icarus Dash ability. Your goal, as per the instructions on the trophy/achievement is to “Ram Dash into an enemy NPC with a fully charged Icarus Dash”, so you need plenty of ground between you and the target, but you also need to be moving forward at the time. Try until you get the trophy/achievement “Ramming Speed!!”.

Crouch, hide behind a corner, and charge up “Icarus Dash” (left), then smash the first enemy that comes close to earn the “Ramming Speed!!!” trophy/achievement (right).

****! Taser Fist!

Buy the “Tesla” augmentation and all its upgrades - this will cost five Praxis - then hold down the augment’s hotkey to charge it. Once charged head around the corner and look at the four enemies standing nearby to get a lock-on reticle. Run into the casino while locked on (and hope no obstructions are in the way) and fire your Tesla attack. If you’re able to hit all four enemies, you’ll get the trophy/achievement “****! Taser Fist!”

Trophy 4564 couldn’t be loaded from database.

Last and not least, you should get the “Humanity+” trophy/achievement when you fully upgrade any one of your augmentations trees and the “And Embrace What You’ve Become” trophy/achievement when you spend Praxis in any of your experimental augmentations. All in all, that’s nine trophies/achievements you can earn in this section… not bad. Not bad at all. When you’re done bothering with trophies reload your earlier save within the Time Machine.
